DESCRIPTION:
Sadistic, ruthless, egotistical, confident etc Dray’chen’s confidence is well placed as the demon is extremely intelligent and malicious. He also has a pervasive preference for tormenting, but won’t hesitate to murder should it be called for, which he also has a passion for.
Generally speaking, Dray’chen has no real appearance. As a Hell demon is it non-corporeal. Once in possession of a host body, Dray’chen appears as that person. Often a sign of possession is glowing green eyes.
(Dray’chen is currently played by Brad Pitt)
BACKGROUND:
Dray’chen is an immensely powerful demon that has come straight from the depths of Hell. For millennia it has terrorised the inhabitants of Earth, possessing countless individuals and causing chaos wherever it treads. Dray’chen has arranged terrible wars leading to the deaths of thousands for nothing more than it’s own amusement and that of the Dark Powers. It casually kills for the sheer pleasure of ending a life; the sheer pleasure of killing. Dray’chen takes enormous pleasure in corrupting both the weak and strong, of playing with it’s prey before killing it. Over the years, it has become extremely talented in torture and many arts of death.
The demon has spawned many legends in it’s long existence. In the Book of Tobit he has been called ‘Asmodeus’, the last two portions of his known name. The name Asmodeus seems to be derived from the Persian aesma daeva, the Zoroastrian "spirit of anger”. Either that or the name and meaning comes from the demon. Tobit describes an instance where Raguel's daughter, Sarah, was tormented by the him. She was married to seven times, each time Asmodeus killed off the husband. Sarah, was about to hang herself in grief, but the angel, Raphael, “bound him hand and foot."
A long account of Asmodeus appears in the Talmud, relating how King Solomon succeeded in capturing him and forcing him into service for the building of the Temple. However, Asmodeus then betrayed him by impersonating Solomon as King.
In 1128 Dray’chen was summoned to possess the Knight Templar Matthew. For two hundred years this creature walked the Earth, and although Dray’chen enjoyed this time immensely, it was ultimately it’s undoing. The demon was bound within the Knight and a powerful soldier of good was born.
Once bound, Dray’chen was effectively silenced and became no more than a generator for the Knight’s power. Since Matthew wiped his memory and created a new one, Dray’chen has discovered it can play somewhat subtly on Chance’s emotions and can gain a small degree of control over him when Chance’s blood is high. But only when those emotions of the disharmony of evil; hate, bitterness and anger run strong is Chance most open to Dray’chen’s interference.
POWERS/ABILITIES:
To exist Dray’chen must take physical form and possess somebody or something. Like the demon Eyghor, this must be performed by either summoning or inviting the demon into a host body, usually after Dray’chen has morally corrupted them to a point where the latter is most likely. This method usually takes the longest as, for example, it took Dray’chen some 40 years to corrupt a soldier of Rome in 486 BCE. Also, it must rest for long periods in an intercorporeal state in-between possession. The longest time spent in a possession is the current one; for which it has now existed on Earth for 877 years. The shortest time was in Egypt, 512 BCE where it barely lasted two months.
Dray’chen is both physically and magically powerful. It has learnt an incredible amount of dark lore and has the power to summon the fires of hell itself. Dray’chen also boldly proclaims it’s true name, a sure sign that the creature is too powerful for the knowledge to be of any help.
