Darian stands roughly 6'2, with broad shoulders, perfect complexion and an athletic build. His clothes and style keep up with the fashions of the day (as not to draw unwanted attention), and the only features that may reveal his supernatural half are his purple eyes.
Attitude
Kind and gentle, Darian abides by a strict moral code, a character trait not often seen in this day and age. Similarly, despite his long life, he is still rather naive owing to the fact that he always tries to see the best in people, even when its not really there. Loyal and heroic to a fault, Darian will do anything to protect the ones he loves.
Darian Gray is played by Tom Welling
HISTORY:
Born in 18th century Scotland, Darian Gray lived a hard life. His mother died giving birth, and his father followed her to the grave four years later, perishing from an incurable sickness. The Blacks, a neighboring family having just lost their youngest child to a terrible flu, decided to take in the orphaned Darian.
There, Darian quickly established a close friendship with the Blacks son, Sebastian. Life had finally seemed to take a turn for the better. However, tragedy was destined to strike yet again. Roughly eight years later, during an habitual evening walk, William and Sandra Black were assaulted and killed by road bandits. Again, Darian was left orphaned.
Fortunately for him, Sebastian who was now fifteen took it upon himself to become Darian’s guardian. He took any job that would present itself, and with the small amounts of money he earned, provided food and an occasional shelter for Darian and himself.
Years past, and Sebastian finally found a steady job as errand boys, for a merchant named Cerunos, for both himself and Darian (who was now of an age to work). Although both boys agreed that there was something “off” about their employer, the money as good, so they paid little attention to his eccentricity.
A month after being hired, Sebastian and Darian received invitation to a party hosted by Cerunos, to celebrate the coming of the harvest. Although the event did not excite the two boys, they decided to attend, as to not offend Cerunos. Finally the night of the party arrived, and Sebastian and Darian ventured to Cerunos’ house, which lay on the outskirts of the town. Upon arriving, they were startled by the fact that they were the only two in attendance. Unnerved, they decided to leave, but before they could, they were attacked from behind, and knocked unconscious.
Sebastian was the first to wake, finding himself tied to a large stone, in what seemed to be a clearing in the woods. After a brief moment his sight fell upon their attacker: Cerunos. The old man was dressed in flowing green robes, and carried an odd looking jar, which emanated a strange purple aura.
“I’m sure you’re wondering why I’ve brought the two of you hear,” Cerunos said, his voice barely above a whisper. “You see Sebastian, I’m not really a merchant, as I’m sure you have now guessed. If the towns’ folk knew my true identity, it would probably cause an uproar, and I don’t have the time to deal with troublesome peasants. I am, in fact, one of the last remaining druids in the Order of the Fae, although I’m sure that means nothing to you. All you need to know is that one of you is most probably about to die and the other is not, and since I am feeling generous, I’ll allow you to pick”.
Darian was now waking, stunned by the scene unfolding around him. Before he could inquire as to what was going on, he heard Sebastian’s voice: “I don’t know what you want madman, but if you hurt Darian, I swear you’ll regret it”.
“As you wish,” the druid chuckled. His voice, previously a soft whisper grew stronger and stronger as he began to chant.
“Sebastian….what’s going…” Darian’s question was soon cut short as the purples light from the jar burst forth and enveloped Darian. The world turned dark around him, and once again he slipped into unconsciousness.
He awoke hours later in Cerunos’ house on the edge of the town. A new energy surged inside him. He was stronger, faster, and filled with a sense of power. Yet there was something else new inside him, something dark.
“Wha….what have you done to me, and where is Sebastian?” he demanded, as Cerunos entered the room.
“As not to bore you with excruciatingly long details, ill make this quick. I merged your body with that of a dark faery. That sense of strength you now feel is the faery’s energy. You’re going to use this new gift to do me a favor, or ill not turn your friend back to normal,” and as he said this, he removed a triangular amethyst pendant from his robes. “Now, you will venture to Glasgow, and kill the man named Tirius. You do this simple errand and ill change Sebastian back to normal".
Although bewildered by the events that had just transpired, Darian had no choice but to cooperate. After being taught his new abilities by the druid, he set off for Glasgow, and with relative ease, did away with the man known as Tirius. When he returned to Cerunos, and demanded that he fulfill his end of the bargain, the mad druid laughed, and told him that he did not have the power to return Sebastian to normal. Before Cerunos could use his magic to do away with Darian, the half-breed grabbed a stone from the floor and threw it with such force, that the blow instantly killed the druid.
On that day, Darian made an oath that he would find a way to return Sebastian to human form…by any means necessary.
SINCE HIS ARRIVAL IN LA
MidSeason2
In the short time he's been in LA, Darian has gone through quite a bit. As he continued his search to find a release for Sebastian, he found himself a job at a fish factory, got an apartment and befriended Tarix and Natasha *the later of which was a little more difficult.* Also, after months of being toyed with by the evil dark faery Loki, he managed to discover the villain's plan, and avoid an untimely death. Although he had the chance to kill his rival, Darian allowed Loki to live. Since that fateful evening, Darian's life has been quite uneventful as he spent the following months continuing his search.
Season3
Darian, along with several others was transported to Grnartha, Victor's home dimension. While there, he found a means of restoring Sebastian back to life, thus ending his 200 year quest. However, his happiness was short lived, when after only a week back in LA, Sebastian was mercilessly killed by the vampire Dathan. Before Darian could get his revenge, the ancient used his magic to release the Dark faery inside his body. While Evexus was incharge of his body, Darian managed to wreak havoc on Chance, bringing him to the ancient as a gift. Finally Evexus was changed back into Darian by the combined efforts of Tash, Loki, and Matthias. Back to normal, he rushed to the brotherhood's headquarters, only to be captured and tortured for several weeks. Finally, upon the attack of the hotel, he managed to break free, and help in the epic battle to save LA.
Midseason 3
In the wake of the brotherhoods attack, Darian finally had some time to rest until his chance encounter with a dying Cole Matthews. Luckily, the fae was able to save the boy from self-combusting, and return him safely to Poplar avenue. During the boy's comatose state, Darian helped a Cole Matthews from the future, along with several other White Hats in an epic battle with the Demon-Queen Proserpexa. Upon returning from the fight, the fae found Cole had finally woken. Despite Cole's objections, Darian convinced the homeless boy to stay. Things were once again peaceful until Chance left to Israel to fulfill his destiny. Along with Cole and the mysterious witch Pandora, Darian ventured to Israel to try and save their friend, but was unable to stop Chance from walking through the interdimensional door; something Darian still looks back on with great regret.
Season 4
As LA started to seemingly see a low in demonic activity, Darian forged a romantic relationship with Adriana Lautari. However, his happiness was soon to be shattered, as Adriana and Cole became infected with Delancre's Hyde virus. Adriana dumped him soon after, and Cole dissapeared for almost a month, before returning only to painfully rip the magic out of Darian's veins. However, when Kate managed to defeat evil Cole, Darian's powers were returned to their rightful owner. There after, Darian helped the White Hats prepare for their inevitable battle with Delancre. After helping Kyle Ashton get through Delancre's mental torture, kidnapping infected Tash, and serving as a magical vessel to eradicate the virus, Darian ended up in a showdown with the slayer Anabella in the final battle. In fear of hurting allies, Darian hesitated from blasting the slayer with magical lightening, a mistake that almost cost him his life. Had it not been for Kyle and Cole's intervention, he would not have lived to see the night's outcome.
