DESCRIPTION:
Jezanus current incarnation is a woman approximately 40 years old. She has dark blue eyes and very long medium blonde hair, which she wears in a chignon most of the time. She stands 5'8" tall and has a normal build for a woman of her age. She is considered attractive if not particularly stunning.

BACKGROUND:
Jezanus was born a man in Arabia and lived a life as a warrior for his Sultan until he was slain on a battlefield. As he lay dying and frightened he promised the devil that he would serve him if he would only be allowed to live. His death was followed by another birth as a woman in India. Ashamed and confused he ended his existence early by leaping off a cliff at the age of 17.
His next incarnation as another man in Mongolia brought enlightenment. He began to realise what what was happening. Using his superior knowledge and appearance as a child prodigy he managed to make his way into the Imperial Court of the Hans.
His role as a minister allowed him to mould events and influence opinion. He began to make prophecies about a "blessed child" that would follow him. This legend has been associated with the Dali Lama and other holy men ever since (although it did predate his pronouncement). This proved to be a fortuitous proclamation. He was born again as a man and again in China. His associated priests found him and he had been re-installed to his previous stature before he was 12. It was in his recurred role as a minister of the Imperial Court of China that he became aware of the existence of Ordo Virtutis. Investigating these claims he came into contact with a Portuguese trader named Fleur.
Fleur was actually a powerful wizard who after divining Jazanus's true nature arranged to have him inducted into the Order. Fleur protected Jazanus through a re-incarnation until he was old enough to watch out for himself. Fleur died in an Indian massacre in the Powell Valley in Virginia while trying to establish a foothold in the new Republic. Jazanus fell into a role he had been groomed for since his induction. Fleur had managed to secure immortality within the five...even if it wasn't his own.
Since its induction into the five, Jazanus has been lover to some members and assassin to others. It has survived complete massacres of the most of the entire group and told the tale (and enacted vengeance for the deed). Fleur trained Jazanus well in the art of subterfuge. He left a few items to it to help in these endeavours (see below). Jazanus has been judicious in their use, preferring to keep their existence secret (although passing them from incarnation to the next has been an amazing feat).
POWERS/ABILITIES:
Serial Immortality ~
Jezanus is a bodiless demon who can only inhabit the bodies of new-borns. This type of demon is generally known as a "changeling" and gave rise to the legend of fairies swapping babies for nasty little gnomes in many cultures.
Generally Jezanus spends his first few years after birth learning to control its new body. It (Jezanus has been both male and female at different points in its existence) remembers all of its former lifetimes but can take years waiting for the brain of its host to develop to the point where it can recall the details.
It has undergone this process many, many times over the course of its existence. If the host is destroyed, it will automatically inhabit a new host.
ITEMS:
The Tantalus Crystal ~
This scrying device gives the bearer the ability to spy on any place. It is the proverbial "fly on the wall". Its use is barely detectable and almost impossible to block (but it can be done). Using the device requires seclusion and concentration.
Fleur's Black Book ~
Fleur was a world traveller and kept secrets he had discovered in a diary of evidence he could use to manipulate others. The effort of doing this proved to be difficult so he crafted the Black Book to record the those speaking near it as half-truths revealed and outright lies exposed.
It is impossible to remove or replace pages in this tome and it is more than 7/8 full of evidence used over the past 400 years that is no-longer relevant (although some of it is). Jezanus tries to limit the use of the device to immortals to prolong its usefulness.
