Description
Atys' fairly red hair doesn't help him in his attempts to blend in and remain largely unnoticed by the world. He stands at 5'9" and has green eyes.
Being a loner, Atys is a very quiet person who tends to prefer to spend most of him time with his mind rather than people. In the three years since he set out to re-discover himself, he has chose to seclude himself from others and as a result has not experienced friendship for a long time.
He is of medium build, slightly muscular, but not overly - leading him to believe that he was not a warrior in his past.
Background
The victim of some unknown crime, Atys "awoke" one day three years ago to find himself alone in the ruins of a Greek village which he had never seen before in his life. In fact, Atys could not remember anything about his life - other than his name and the feeling that he was running from something. He was unhurt, but extremely confused.
Coming to terms with the situation, Atys realised that there was nothing in the village that seemed even remotely familiar. He would have expected to remember at least something, but no. He came to the conclusion that he was not of this village. He decided he was of Greece, though, due to the fact that Greek seemed to be his predominant language (he also knew he knew Latin, but not as well as his Greek.) However, this left him confused as to why he was there in the first place and why was he the only one that had survived whatever had happened to the little village.
With nothing left of the village, he decided there was no point in staying for long. Less than two days after his "rebirth", Atys left the village - still not even knowing it's name.
The next three years took Atys on a journey of discovery as he set out to re-claim his identity - or at least find out what it was. His travels took him all over Greece, eventually briefly settling in Athens. Here he found out he had a knack for writing and decided to begin a journal of his travels in order to piece together his past life.
Upon leaving Athens, Atys continued his journey around Greece, all the while hoping to find something or someone he recognised. Unfortunatly, the only thing he found out was that there was nothing there that even remotely jogged his memory. Atys despaired, but refused to give up. Instead, he went further into his shell, feeling out of place in a world where everyone around him had an identity - they had families, friends and most of all, they had a past. It wasn't long before Atys began to resent those around him, leading to an avoidance of contact with any other being. In his mind, he was not one of them and until he was - until he reclaimed his life - he would not mix with them.
And so Atys continues his search for a history. The fact he has found nothing within the confines of Greece has lead him to believe he is not of this country as he had originally presumed. And so he has decided to take his search further afield...
Items
His only possessions are his trusty scrolls which he purchased in Athens along the way to record his journey in order to help him piece together his life. Despite the fact they don't actually contain anything but a record of his thus-far unsuccessful quest, he holds them dear. They document the only life he has known and he refuses to lose it again.
And as he does not believe in fighting, he is unarmed, preferring to hide or run away from trouble.
His only other possessions are his clothing, which is just simple, common pants and a shirt - which are quite worn and tatty with age.
Skills
Atys is an expert at camouflage and concealment, which he has mastered in the three years he has had to put it into practice in order to go unnoticed by the world. It is his mastering this skill which has kept him alive.
He also surprised himself with his ability at languages - he can speak, read and write in both Greek and Latin. However, Greek appears to be his predominant language. His knowledge of Latin is a tad sketchy, but he prides himself in that fact that he knows more than one language.
