I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer to this question -
In one of my up comming storylines I want The Ministry to purchase a plot of vacant land in the California state for business redevelopment. I was wondering if there were any land laws prohibiting this - or what I would have to do to get around it. Obviously The Ministry is an organisation that trades under various names but it's mostly based in Europe and Asia - hence the connection with Majestic 12. It will no doubt be the latter who will finalise the purchase on behalf of the former, but I was just wondering if there would be any glaring errors concerning this.
No need to get TOO bogged down in the politics of it all though guys, I'm just looking for some simple points to note down such as any difficulties that might arise or problems that would have to be negotiated. Thanks for your gaming time :D

It should not be a problem. There are trade laws and permits and things to get sorted out. They would likely have to file a business plan with the California Trade Commission, but over all it should be a breeze.
If the Ministry was based out of the Middle East, Africa or China then it might be an issue, becasue trade relations with those countries are more complicated, but a British corporation would have no problem getting past the formalities.
I just so happened to be researching this for the purchase of my private island (yes i AM serious about that) and the process is similar for Americans making business depment deals in other countries.
I promise to let you all stay on my island free of charge once it gets purchsed. Really.

The "official" ending of MidSeason Three was today, the 29th Feb. However, as always the forum will be left unlocked for another week or so for late postings.
Kris has indicated that she will be making the first Season Four post, and Season Four officially starts tomorrow, 1st March (not sure if Kris is ready to make the first post yet, though).
I did mention the Wish post to Dave and he's aware he still has to write that. Time's weird for us at the moment, since we just bought the new house this weekend and are doing home handiman type things over the next few weekends. :)
