DESCRIPTION:
Sergei is a very svelte man at about 6’0” with light tan skin. He has curly black hair which sometimes droops over his black and blue emo glasses. Although he exercises every day, he still looks scrawny. Sergei usually wears business shirts with ties, but when he’s not working, he tends to dress a bit on the nerdy side.
He can also speak Romani, his second language, though he is now taking up French, in honor of Gwen.

BACKGROUND:
In the spring of 1972, 16 year old Jurij Aurari married 13 year old Janna Chivute. Both were gypsies of the Kalderash clan, but they were ambitious. From the first months of their marriage, they planned on moving to America. But both Jurij’s parents and Janna’s uncle, Enyos, refused to allow it. After a year of begging, the couple was finally granted permission to make their move there. But just before they began their travel to America, Janna discovered she was pregnant. The Rom baro then ordered that Jurij and Janna stay in Romania until their baby was born. They obeyed.
On September 15, 1974, Janna gave birth to a baby boy. They named him Sergei. Three months later, Jurij moved his wife out and child out of Romania to America. There, they settled in a small town in New Jersey, allowing Jurij to train to become a police officer. Life was good for the Aurari family.
Until, in 1980, Jurij was killed in the line of duty, leaving Janna behind the raise 6 year old Sergei, alone. Word of Jurij’s death reached the Kalderash back in Romania. The clan was upset, but, nonetheless, told Janna that if she was having trouble raising her child by herself, then she was immediately return back to the Rumanian Woods. This struck fear into Janna’s heart. America had given her so much. Within her three years there, she had learned to read and write both English and Romanian, which introduced her to the world of literature, and most importantly, magic. She knew that if she returned to the clan, her uncle would have her remarried and would force her son to live by Romani tradition.
She then heard that her sister, Apollonija’s, brother-in-law, Enzo, was taking in Apollonija’s daughter, Adriana. Thinking of her Sergei’s future, Janna approached Enzo and his wife, Lorraine, and begged him to raise her son while she attended the Coven’s school for magic. The Lautaris agree to raise Sergei. Although Sergei was an only child, he grew up looking at Adriana as a younger sister. Enzo and his children were not his blood relatives, making Sergei uncomfortable around them. But, in time, he grew to be comfortable around them and eventually looked at Enzo as his second father.
Sergei was an exceptional student, amazing every teacher he had except his PE teacher. As it turned out, Sergei was a horrible athlete, blessed (or more likely, cursed) with asthma. This encouraged him to dive deeper into his studies. Around 15 years old, Sergei developed an interest in magic, just like his mother. He dabbled with levitation spells and amateur potions behind Lorraine's, and his strict Catholic school’s, back. The Roman Catholic religion did not approve of any form of magic and he knew it. He continued to continue his dabbling in secret.
When Sergei was 16, he met the 14 year old freshman exchange student from France, Gwenaelle Saracens. She was the only child of the Gitano Gypsy King, and she was only going to be in America for one semester. They met during P.E. when Sergei nearly passed out from a sudden asthma attack. Gwenaelle had seen him slowly collapsing and ran over to help him. There, they met. Gwen begged her father to allow her to finish her education in America. He agreed, believing that Gwen fell in love with the United States. Truth be told, she fell in love with something, or more correctly, someone else.
Sergei graduated from St. George Academy in 1992 with high honours. He then enrolled himself into Colombia University, majoring in computer sciences. He had taken it up from a suggestion by his mother, who told him about the new rise of magic over computers. Sergei excelled at this, and in 1996, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in it.
Disaster struck in 1998. Janna, now incognito as Jenny Calendar, was watching over Angel when his curse broke and he returned to his natural state, killing Sergei’s great Uncle Enyos and his mother, Janna. Even though Sergei wasn’t particularly close to her, he was still devastated. In respect for her, he took her fake last name as his official name. Sergei Aurari was now Sergei Calendar. Within a few months, Sergei was hired by a large Internet company dealing with the occult. His job was write weekly tips on learning magic faster. The company didn’t care if was a gypsy, but judged him by his magic ability. This had rarely occurred with him.
During this whole time, Sergei and Gwen had still been dating. After much consideration, Sergei came to a final decision. In May of 2005, Sergei asked Gwen to marry him. She happily said yes. Everything was finally looking up for Sergei. But, a year later, a fateful decision came to haunt Sergei. His cousin, Adriana, who was the closest thing to a sister, agreed to watch over the creature Angelus, the same assignment that Sergei’s mother, Janna, had performed and died from. Although he was supported Adriana on the outside, he was scared to death for her on the inside. But he has had little time to beg Yolanda, Adriana’s grandmother, to reconsider. His upcoming wedding has taken up most of his time.
Sergei is set to marry on 13 December 2006.
