DESCRIPTION:
In appearance Jack looks just like an ordinary human, he is approximately 6’0” in height and has a lean and slightly toned physique for a man of his years. Jack has a very ‘distinguished’ look about him and is quite handsome in a mature sense. He has short grey hair and dark brown eyes. Jack has a stern looking face that is very good at disguising his emotions.

BACKGROUND:
Jack was born in Philadelphia in 1951 to parents named Cathy and Samuel Archer. He lived a fairly average and mundane childhood, never realising that his father Samuel was a demon until Jack began to develop powers of his own. When Jack turned eighteen years old his parents decided to tell their young son the truth about his heritage.
Jack didn’t take the news that he was half demon well. For many years he tried to fight against his demonic heritage and refused to acknowledge his powers and the slight abnormalities that made him half demon. Jack left home to continue his studies in ancient history and eventually took a post in Los Angeles as a Museum Curator of Egyptian Antiquities.
It was in LA that Jack met and fell in love with a woman called Kadee Wiccham. She was a witch and completely at peace with the true nature of the world and all its demons. She enabled Jack to come to terms with his inner demon and bridged the gap allowing him to be reconciled with his parents. Kadee encouraged Jack to search for more of his own kind and to actively practice his growing powers, hoping they would some day be of use to the greater good. Shortly afterwards they were married and moved to England for a short time during which they had a daughter, whom they named Catherine. Shortly after the birth of their daughter Kadee and Jack returned to their home in Los Angeles.
However Jack’s search for his own demonic lineage stirred up a hornet’s nest of bad blood. A demonic sect called The Mok’quaj and the sworn enemies of Jack’s race of demons vowed to hunt him down. Afraid for the lives of his wife and daughter Jack fled Los Angeles. That was the last that he ever saw of Kadee and Kate. When he returned home six months later he found their house deserted and a note awaiting him on the table.
My dear Jack,
I wish there were some way that I could contact you, Janus came to see me a few days ago and told me of a situation back in England. I have no choice but to return and finish what I should have all those years ago. But I fear for my safety and I long to see you again. Jack, since I have no way of contacting you I shall have to return to England and take Kate with me, what ever may happen to me I know that she shall be safe with the coven. I send my blessings out to you every night in the hope that you will return to us safe.

Jack journeyed to England, desperate to be reunited with his wife and child. However when he got there the coven denied ever contacting Kadee and all knowledge of her whereabouts. Distraught, Jack finally tracked down Janus and forced her to tell him the truth. She omitted that Kadee had returned to England with her daughter but that both had died in a mysterious ritual that Kadee was performing.
Heartbroken, Jack spent months desperately trying to find out exactly what had happened to his family but was met with opposition in all directions from the Coven of Sindell. Eventually Jack was approached by an operative of a secret organisation called The Ministry on the basis that they would help him find out what had really transpired to his wife and child. However, this deal was never upheld and after several years working within the organisation Jack became disgusted with their practices and managed to secure his release.
He returned home to Philadelphia. There his father taught him about a secret Alliance, a group of demons and half-demons like themselves who believed and tried to perpetuate an ideal of peace between mortals and demons. Jack was quickly initiated into the Alliance and has worked within their ranks from that day forward, in an attempt to use his powers for the greater good.
Midseason Two ~
In midseason two, Jack was sent to Los Angeles to track down the demon Belzar – a member of the Order of Valour. He did so and executed the demon but was immediately faced with the Order’s head, Alaric. Thanking him for his skill in disposing of Belzor and in a gesture of good will, Alaric shared with Jack news that was about to turn his entire world upside down – his daughter Catherine was alive and well living in Los Angeles.
Overwhelmed by such information, Jack tracked the now young woman down to a small occult bookshop in the Alhambra district – The Bibliophile. For the next week he frequented the spot, taking the opportunity to observe the young woman that was his daughter until one night when, in a confrontation with Kate he was left with no choice but to reveal his identity.
Kate was understandably wary, but Jack managed to pave the way that allowed her to accept him as her father. For several weeks the two met in secret to talk and get to know one another, Jack was astounded by the girl’s striking resemblance to his late wife and grew quickly to admire and like her. Eventually, after saving Kate from an attack by the demon Ryan, Jack was introduced to her partner Galen Eldridge and discovered that he was soon to be a grandfather.
POWERS/ABILITIES:
Although Jack appears to be entirely human he has certain physical and mental abilities that are part of his demonic origin. Jack has a slightly larger heart than most humans giving him a greater stamina and energy. Jack is also much stronger than normal humans and is much less prone to infection due to a residual demonic enzyme in his blood stream. Aside from these physical differences, which are all but unnoticeable, Jack also has a number of ‘magical’ abilities -
Telepathy ~
Jack is capable of both reading surface thoughts and sending telepathic messages (in the form of words or images) without any physical contact. Line of sight is also irrelevant, though this decreases the proximity he needs for the sending. Unlike his daughter Kate who had to learn control of her telepathy, Jack has an inborn instinctual control of his powers.
Telekinesis ~
Jack has the power to move and levitate objects using only his mind. The simple act of moving objects takes little or no concentration and unlike Kate, Jack does not even need to be in sight of the object he wishes to move. In every other respect Jack’s telekinetic powers are much the same as Kate’s except that he has a greater focus and control.
Clairvoyance ~
Jack’s visions are slightly less vivid than Kate’s, and do not cause him any pain. He also has the ability to bring about conscious visions at will. The visions may be best described for Jack as a “bizarre, lucid dream,” often filled with large amounts of symbolism and irrelevancies. In general, the more specific and clear the vision, the more fleeting it will be. Most specific, sustained visions will be brought about suddenly. Usually these would be prompted by a specific place, person, power, strong emotion. Jack’s visions are also of either the past, present, or future, though he has learned to look for certain signs to tell what area they fall in.

A NOTE ON HALFR’ANER-ALF DEMONS: Def: Halfr’aner’alf – half man, half supernatural being
Halfr’aner-alf Demons look entirely human by way of reproduction with humans over centuries. However, the demon has retained certain characteristics that seem to vary amongst different ‘sects’ of the Halfr’aner-alf. Most common are a super-human strength and lack of infection controlled by a residual demonic enzyme in the blood stream. The Halfr’aner-alf also have various enlarged internal organs such the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, etc. This is the result of a growth hormone that is found in a higher quantity in the Halfr’aner-alf.
The other powers of this demonic race are deemed ‘magical’ – powers such as telekinesis, telepathy and clairvoyance, and each of these exists in varying degrees of strength within the different ‘sects’ depending on the increased level of synaptic impulses in the brain.
