Well, almost great. One small thing: unless I'm mistaken, Kristen's Drew is not played by Brendan Fraser. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Note: I don't have a gallery for Kimmie, because she changes appearance fairly frequently. I suppose she could have a gallery for all her guises, but I didn't know if that was necessary.

well, as u al know, Mantheana lives on a nice snobby street, which is full of old mansions... If any one can think of a cool street name for her road I would be very greatful. please post anything under neath or pm me and ill set up a poll.

An actress for Mantheana
I was was watching tv, and, as you do i saw that really annoying club song by flip n fill called shooting star.
now i like the look of the vocalist for the song as an actress for mantheana (minus the stupid hair does) but i need her name.
If anyone knows what her name is or knows how to find out please tell me.
and its not kelly llorena, thats another song by flip n fill.

I'm pretty much at the finished stage of Reah's picture! YAY!!! Unfortunately, my knowledge of computers is absolutly minimal when it comes to posting pics that dont have a URL! So could someone please help me! what do i need to do to get it up?
plus i dont have any web sites of my own to stick it on, and the only internet facility i have what so ever on my computer is only the connection thing, and browser opener thingamo!
So if i need to email it to someone or something, plus the size it needs to be, could someone please tell me! PLEEEEAASE!!! 8O

You can e-mail any pics you want (avatars or character gallery pictures) to Dave - his e-mail address is in the memberlist. He will link them to the board for you.
Any pictures used as avatars need to be no more than 128x128 pixles - you should be able to do this yourself with any basic photoshop or paintshop software package - however if you haven't access to either or are unsure what to do I'm sure Dave will sort it out for you if you ask him nicely :D

I think Ivy Road is a dandy name for a snooty neighborhood. I'd have to look to see if there IS an Ivy Road in LA somewhere (it need not be in Alhambria where Poplar is located) but it would be interesting to know.
Let me know if you need maps or even a general idea where your home is located in reference to the other locations...if it becomes neccessary to know.

I found a neighborhood not far from Alhambra where Mantheana could live. There isn't an Ivy Road there (but there could be) and it is near Granada Park. The main street there is W Midwickhill Drive You can see the houses using the aerial photo feature of Mapquest.com

given a huge big conversation i had with some players and their lack of understanding of most of my slang, i decided to make a dictionary. This can be for board (given that my character uses alot of Russian) or just if u wanna post up a cool word and its definition. oky dokey.

Hi all! I've updated Reah's profile, no major changes as such have been made, it's just a more thorough description of her background, and includes Grandma's part in raising Reah which was not included in the original one.
However, if the telling of Reah's background would be preffered as it was before, please tell me and I'll restore it back to its original glory :D

You can do it using the "IMG" tag. the IMG tag looks like this "[img]" then you type the web location of the picture you want to display (the LA By Night logo on this page is located at : http://www.latenightgames.com/forum/templates/subGreen/images/logo_phpBB...) then you close the tag with a "[/img]" and the picture will show up there.
If you need help determining where pictures are located or how that works, I'm happy to help anyone with uploading photos and such.

Themes
Okay this is really more of an idea that has begun to germinate ni my mind and I want to throw it out there and share it with all of you becasue I want to see what you think.
Much of the fiction we are writing here follows the example set by Buffy The Vampire Slayer and so follows a mythic path. Each of the protagonists (and antagonists) in our little drama has a role that roughly corresponds to their chosen path. So there are milestones along the way that fulfill our requirements of being mythic heroes (thank you Joseph Campbell).
To that end each of the seasons has drawn upon an unconcious theme that represents a milestone in that journey. Season 1 was "What are you?" as our heroes seek to define whether they are heroes, villains or bystanders. Each of us underwent a journey of discovery that placed us at odds with our beliefs and conceptions and forced us to choose sides in an epic struggle.
We emerged on the other side with clear definitions of what we were (or at least what we were trying to be). The Midseason continued that theme allowing us to look at our pasts and connections and see what parts of ourselves did we need to remove (or strengthen) in order to achieve our transofrmations.
Season two is already starting to exhibit a theme. It seems to be "WHO are you?" If in season one we decided to be heroes, then in Seson two we struggle with defining what kind of hero we want to be. What are the limits of our choice and where are the paths that will allow us to grow freely.
I don't know if anyone else thinks in such "metathemes" but I find it sort of helps me define where I want to be at the season's end. I have spoken to a few people and they are amazed that I am already thinking one season ahead at where I want Victor to be and how he defines himself.
But that is how it works (for me anyway) if I have a goal in sight then it makes the journey seem even more exciting. So I am interested if anyone else thinks in terms of a "metatheme" for their character.
Or if you don't what other themes do you see emerging from the LA By Night mosaic besides (or instead of) the ones I am seeing? Think outside the box...

This is actually something that i have thought about myself, if only in very loose terms - such as Season one being an icebreaker, setting up the area in which we will play and also establishing characters.
There was alot of paranoia and uncertainty in the first season, lots of 'can i trust you?' and pairing up. I think Season 2 will show these relationships (lots of which were forced through specific circumstances) for what they are - putting them under the microscope so to speak.
On a personal level, i used season one and midseason as a way of resolving what baggage my character brought with her to LA (and there was alot!!) I think I have pretty much done what i set out to do and hope to use season 2 to look towards the future, also build on relationships with other characters (no not like that guys - I know what you're thinking!) and maybe bring out the human side of Kate, since i focused alot on the wicca side of her last season.
Needless to say i have a few things up my sleeve, perhaps Kate's past seems just that, maybe season 3 will uncover some further surprises...

Well, what keeps characters going in a parallel direction is plot. Plot, though, is dull in and of itself. When I ran Vampire the Masquerade, I was BIG on themes. Themes are what kept us flavorful. I'm glad to find that I'm not so alone in my thinking.

Strangely enough I have gotten this a lot in the last 5 years or so. It always amazes me to hear people say it with sincerity and I appreciate it.
I work hard at doing "a little bit more" and it has paid off in being both successful and highly prized as an associate. Glad to see I havn't lost the touch! ;)
