I keep telling people, and they don't always believe me - but Tash is an entirely separate entity that lives in my head. Most of the time she clues me in on what she wants to do, but sometimes she truly surprises me. I'm not at all amazed that Victor and Tash knew about the split before you or I had any idea about it. Tash has done this sort of thing to me before. 8O

Anyway, now that we've got Wednesday more or less out of the way and we're getting close to actually posting this monster party (FINALLY!) maybe we should have some kind of schedual for how this will occur?
Will there be any posts occuring on Saturday morning? Or are we going to jump straight into Saturday night?
Presumable the first post will be by Kris - doing the opening and greeting the first few guests - but I'd just like a little clarification on just how we are going to post this now that the time is almost upon us.

i can post this and we can follow it with the party stuff if you all like
so, if you and john do some stuff first, then i will do mine. the only contingency is I am leaving for anaheim on wednesday, so if I don't get this all done by tomorrow afternoon, I will not have any more time to do it. What do you think?
I won't be back to my computer until next Monday, so I'd rather post my stuff now if I can.

Sounds good to me... I believe Dave and I have a post we need to do for Saturday some time, but it'll be a day or two before we're able to write that post. But it will be as a lead-in to the party for us, too, so that shouldn't be an issue.
I did have a couple of things vaguely in the wings that would be involving Sorrow, but given Robin's mysterious disappearance that'll have to go on hold for a while.

Ok, Kris has put up the intro and greetings sections of the party post...
Because Dave's sections and mine are fairly interlinked, I've worked out a chronology of seven posts (!!) involving either or both of our characters - some of these posts also have other characters, so some of those posts may well be posted by others (notably Sherlynn or Hannah).
I've not done a full chronology of posts, however... If we wish to keep the flow of party posts in some semblence of order I'm happy to do the same for the rest. Equally, I'm happy for people to work out their own chronologies.
Personally, I think it would flow best if the posts were ordered such that references to other characters' positions happens after the post detailing that character's actions has been made. This won't always be possible, given the circular nature of some of these references, but it's worth a shot at least.
To do this, we'll need to all work closely together to decide on the optimum order of posting.
On a related note: looking at where to start the fight post, I think this works best as a lead in...

Tash noticed Kate looking their way, a grin on her face. Tash grinned in reply. Galen glanced at Kate, “Shall we find out what those two are so happy about?”
Kate smiled, “It wouldn't take a genius to figure that one out!”
Henna came back in, straightening her new dress. Joshua appeared shortly after, looking sheepish.
Melissa was occupied with spiking the fruit punch with an entire bottle of vodka, just to see what would happen.
Chinaka was beginning to wonder if the band was ever gonna play good music as Hector excused himself to Victor and Tash and went back to tending bar.
In their corner, Victor took the ring and placed it on Tash's finger. She gaped at it for a moment longer before turning to Victor. “I have to say, love, you've left me speechless.” She hit him lightly on the arm. “You could have warned me,” she grinned before kissing him long and hard.
Victor returned the kiss. As they broke apart he said, “Shall we go back and join the party?”
Tash sighed, “I suppose we should. It's just... I want to laugh and cry and shout all at the same time.” She stroked his cheek, “And I want to savour this. I love you…”
“I know exactly how you feel. I have been feeling this way all week. You've been a little too preoccupied to notice.”
Tash winced at that. She’d been neglecting Victor for far too long, taking him for granted.
Just then the door slammed open. Jem was standing there with members of the Black Veins behind her holding many weapons. Jem grinned evilly, “ Hi guys, are we late?”

Hmm, rereading that bit before the fight, Dave and I are going to have to edit ours slightly...

Since Victor wasn't home most of the week, as it turns out, I suspect Tash's response may be a bit stronger than it was - assuming Victor is still going to say that to her. :wink:

From what I can see - the next post after Daye's intro should be a conversation with Tash and Chinaka - followed by some Victor/Tash stuff

Well, you're close Lou, but actually the conversation with Tash and Chinaka has to come AFTER Tash and Victor encounter Parasol outside....
The very first post after the one Kris has put up should be Victor/Parasol (outside), followed by Tash/Chinaka (at the bar), followed by Victor/Parasol (coming inside and interacting with Daye).
Then it becomes harder, as more people have arrived. From Tash's point of view the next (4th) post should be where Victor joins her at the bar and they leave Chinaka and are introduced to Mantheana and Jess.
Then Victor and Manthana have a conversation (5th post) while Tash and Jess have one (so far undocumented...).
That's followed by Victor returning with Mantheana to Tash and Jess - where there's a 3-way conv. for a while. The 7th post is where Victor takes Tash dancing and proposed to her.
Then there's the fight.
Kate and Galen arrive at the start of the 3-way conv. between Tash, Victor and Mantheana ('my' post # 6)... but there's stuff that Daye does with Drew and Chinaka, and that Parasol does, etc, all interspered between 'my' post # 4 and #7. :roll:
After what I've labelled post #7 comes the fight... though again, there's at least one other post in there (Parasol chatting to Mantheana).
As I said, I've only ordered posts where Victor and Tash are involved directly - but I'm willing to do a rough order for the rest as well if needed. If not, hopefully this very quick outline will make things a bit clearer.

*I* only have three posts to do (see how simple it CAN be) Basically, Kate and Galen arrive - chat a little to Tash and Victor before Galen goes to the bar, and the Daye/Kate convo occurs.
Then there's a long pause, where kate and galen both observe the party introspectively. Then Kate joins Galen, they talk - bada boom bada bing (more introspectively watching party) FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!! :D

I apologize if I'm lame but I am confused as well. I thought that it was one long master that would be broken up into many posts.
I've collabed with Heather (conversation w/Tash and Parasol) and Dave (Parasol & Victor). I believed they kept the master.
If that is not the case, I will need to be directed here by TPTB. Just tell me when and what part to post and I will. Most important, I guess, is when. Just tell me what to do and I will do it.

Sherl, I've e-mailed you the next bit to be posted (the conversation between Victor and Parasol outside). Then there's a short bit for me or Dave to post, then a conversation between Victor and Mantheana for Hannah to post, and last night Alice and I did a quick conv between Tash and Jess, which Alice will post after Hannah does hers.
Then it's open for Kris to post bits for Daye/Drew up to when Daye disappears... Lou and Adam can do any of their bits up to just before the proposal. And Sherl, there's a bit of stuff with Parasol and Chinaka also up to just before the proposal.
If any of you don't have all the data you need for your posts, let me know 'cause I have the full transcript and can send it to you. :D

Um, ok. I know I said I didn't want to be a total Nazi about the party post, but I have a feeling that it's already started to get a bit out of order.... Sherlynn hopefully will be making a post soon, but it really should have gone before Kris or Lou put theirs up. *sigh*
Am I being too pedantic in trying to keep this relatively chronological???
And, to continue with the anal retentiveness - Kris, you may want to look at splitting your post into two. Perhaps end one at the end of the conversation with Kate (and ideally that one should go after Sherlynn gets Parasol and Victor inside), but do the stuff relating to Drew after a few others have gone up. It's kinda the point I was trying to make about not putting up reactions to things before that thing has been posted.
Drew is talking about his reaction to a conversation with Parasol and Chinaka that hasn't gone up yet. And can't go up until Sherlynn posts the stuff with Parasol and Victor outside, and ideally the Tash/Jess and Victor/Mantheana chats are also posted... Then Drew's conversation with Sherlynn's characters can go up, and then Daye can chat to Drew about it...
I know it's a pain having to wait for other people to get their earlier posts up before you can do all of yours... but I feel it will help with the flow when people read these posts as a set.
Basically, what I'm asking is for Kris and Lou to see their way clear to remove their posts until Sherlynn gets the outside conversation up, then if Kris would do just the first half of hers, I think the flow would improve vastly.
Sorry to be such a pain in the arse about all this, but hopefully you can see what I'm getting at here.

So, Kris, if Dave or I are online when you read this thread, and you're ok for your post to be (hehe) postponed :wink: then let either of us know. Otherwise, just drop us a line in here and whoever's on first will delete it for you. I've saved an edited copy of the posts in the highly unlikely event that you don't have your own copy.
Then, Sherlynn, please zap up the outside conv. with Victor and Parasol whenever you can. After that Dave, Hannah, Alice, Kris and Lou can do theirs (though as before, I'd suggest to Kris that she only post the first half of hers at this point). Then Sherlynn can do the byplay with Drew, Kris can post her second half and Dave and I can post the two proposal-related posts. *whew*

Oh, good, Sherl. I was humming and hawing over those extra paragraphs this morning - in the end I left them, and I've saved a copy of your post as it was. I'm glad you saw it the same way I did. Once Kris' was gone, they unfortunately no longer fitted. But I'm sure you'll be able to add them into your later bits. From memory you have a conversation with Mantheana after that whole rebuffal thing - so you could use those paragraphs as a lead in to that.
And yes, it is fun... sort of... if it doesn't send me mad first. :)
We're getting there, slowly but surely. Now the board is ready for Hannah and Alice to post theirs. :D

At this stage we've now got all the early stuff out of the way. The board's up to the point where all the early 'meet and greet' conversations have happened, and Victor has just asked Tash to dance.
So far as I can see, all that's left is for Sherlynn to do stuff with Parasol, Chinaka and Drew at the bar. I believe Adam has stuff to post directly after that, as does Kris. Then Dave can post Victor's proposal. Then Sherl or Hannah get to go again with the conv between Parasol and Mantheana.
Then, finally, I believe we're set for the fight to start...
If anyone has other stuff that belongs in there somewhere, speak up...

Alright, Oh Harsh Taskmistress, I have another quandry to wade through. Will I be posting what happens to Daye during the fight before or after it is up, or does it even matter? That's what I need to know. I have a bit where she goes outside, explaining how she ends up in Parasols car and then there is a dream meeting between Daye and Sam. Where do these posts go?

Ah, sneaky - something that's not in my master file...
Well, I've just done a quick read through of the fight and the search for Daye. These bits are everyone in together, so I'd say we just split the action up into manageable chunks (way too much to post all at once) and divvy the fight up amongst whoever happens to be online when the time comes to post it.
As for Daye's wandering outside and dream meeting, there's references by Drew during the fight that he's unable to see Daye. Would make for more dramatic impact, I think, if therefore we don't find out what happened to Daye until after the fight. It could possibly be slotted in just as we're starting to search for her post-fight... perhaps here:
...Drew was waiting anxiously to begin the search. He was battered, his clothes torn and dirty, and his expression was desperate. He continued to search around the interior of the torn apart bookshop.
Parasol replied, “Don't think that's a good idea. Drew?”
Drew’s frantic voice replied, “I've looked all around the shop. She's not here. She's just not here."
Then we continue with the 'chunk posting' with a little overlap:
Drew’s frantic voice resounded through Bibliophile, “I've looked all around the shop. She's not here. She's just not here."
Kate coughed again weakly, “Well she definitely isn’t in the storeroom!” she said, gesturing to the room she had just left.
Victor peeled off his soaking shirt and jacket revealing angry blisters on his arms and red spots on his neck and face. He gently wrapped his arms with his shirt.
