Character Name: Balokorokobalo aka Balok
Race: Squib
Gender: Male
Light Side/Dark Side ratio: 9/2
Description: Balok is a small, rodent like humanoid, whose whole body is covered in reddish orange fur. He has pointed, tufted ears and large brown eyes. He is full of energy and life. Balok is unique to his race, however, in that his interests are not in trade or negotiations, but rather in machinery. From a very young age, the Squib has been fascinated by engines and technology. Balok was raised on a starship. His parents were traders. Balok was tearing apart engines and rebuilding them almost from birth.
Balok met Uri Gristol on Corellia, where the young man had just won a ship in a very successful Saabac game. Uri was, however, on his way out of the system. He mentioned something about misunderstandings and cheaters. The hyperdrive on Uri’s new ship, the Lady Fate, had been disabled by the owner. Uri offered Balok decent credits to circumvent the owner’s security measures. Balok was finished in under five minutes. Uri offered him a job.
Balok had always wanted to work on different ships. He wanted to see what else was out there. Uri’s offer was too good to pass up. He ran off, grabbed his things and was on the ship when it left Corellia.
Balok never intended to stay with Uri so long, but the human was so much fun. Uri got into scrapes, and with Uri, Balok saw so many things. Of course, Balok missed his family, missed seeing other Squibs. He’d never really been like others though. He’d always related better to machines. And Lady Fate was his machine. He’d perfected her drive systems, redesigned her holds, made her sleeker, better, made her his. He could never walk away from her now.
When Uri retired, the girl Taryn inherited the Lady Fate. She asked Balok to stay on. What else could he do? The ship was his life.
Items:
Balok carries a variety of tools and components at all times. He also wears a small hold out blaster. He may be enamored of his ship, but he does realize the element he runs with.
Skills:
Balok has an inborn affinity for machines. He can rebuild or repair just about anything. If he can take it apart, then Balok can put anything back together, probably better than it was before. Most of his particular experience is with starships, drive systems, and navigation systems. Balok can easily repair most simple mechanisms as well.
Force Powers: none
Played by: Disney's Robin Hood
