Let me be the first to say how awesome your Star Wars game sounds. The template, in and of itself, was inspiring.

Okay, okay. Here's the thing. I'm excited. I was trying to remain neutral. At Kris's house, I even walked out of the conversation on Star Wars before I became too involved.
Here's my question for Dave and Heather--and, trutfully, for Adam and Matt and Shaun and EVERYONE. Please speak up if you have objections. I'll take them seriously.
Would you object to my playing an auxilliary NPC for Star Wars? I'm not talking about creating an in-depth character, as I've done with Oliver Bell. I'm not talking about pages and pages of stories that run parallel to the main season. I'm talking about a character that could take part in collabs--maybe with a solo post here and there if warranted.
I can't imagine being present for every collab, so that's why I'm proposing an auxilliary NPC (Dave's classification). While reading the Lianna, Zara, and Corin profiles, I found myself longing to play the mistrel of these tales. Classic Star Wars comic relief. Or, if not comic, then definite sidekick relief.
I'd love to play a droid.
I'd love to play the liason between PCs, maybe a droid who has had his memory erased, has been owned by many, many PCs throughout history.
I won't come up with a character profile if there are objections. I'll wait for your responses. Please be honest; my feelings are not on the line here. But I am feeling inspired. So let me know.

That would be fun for me. I would be all for it. I could make a droid complete enough to allow you all to run him if I'm not able to make a collab. I'll trust that you'll help me when the time comes.
But let's wait to see what the others say to this idea before I let my servos hit the keyboard. (Oh, Adam, thanks for the compliment. But in this setting I'm merely a hunk of flotsam on the wave of your creativity. I'll go with the flow.)

No you're not, Sid. I just happen to have a good memory for things that have no real use to me in the world. It's stuff like math that's boring and I can't remember. So for me at least, it's a fair amount of just taking ideas that are already out there, and developing them further.
(Incidentally, the Echani are sort of cannon... they get mentioned in at least a couple of the games - but they would fall low on the cannon heirarchy).

I am fascinated, watching this game setting come together. You guys cooperate like a veteran super hero team. You work well together, post after post, brick by brick, row by row. I'm just trying to keep up with the growth.

It isn't that hard to beleive. We are a group that works together well already...but this is actually our Fifth game. LABN, Zion, Mythic, Legends, and now Star Wars.
We are old hats at world building.

My better judgement is telling me to shut up, but I'm excited. I'm posting this in case there's actually someone out there who's as DUMB as me. I don't think there is, but hey, we might get a new player who feels lost. I finally get the Light Side/Dark Side ratio, laid out in the character template that Dave came up with. I only sort of got it before.
It's like a tug of war between the light and dark side. If the number on the left (10/2) is greater, then the light side is winning the battle raging within the character. If the number on the right is greater, then the dark side is pulling the character toward evil things.
It took me a while looking at this formula to understand what it really meant. Can you all say DUH for me? :lol:
For my droid, I chose 1/1 because Dave offered that as an example for a droid. Now I see that the light/dark battle for SA-2C is right down the line, EQUAL, at 1/1.
Again, my better judgment is telling me, "Don't let everyone know you were too stupid to get it." I still think I should get a pass, though I came into the show late, because I still came in! Heh.
Dave, it's a cool way of looking at the Force, now that I know how to look at it. I was letting the math confuse me.
