It was mentioned in a recent post that a White Hat meeting was held off camera, which came as a surprise, although i think i had talked about it with somebody. However, i'm getting Adamlike here, and i cant remember when or with whom or what i talked about so... :roll:
I'd like to know when it was and if there is some special information that we should have learnt in it that could be mentioned in our posts. Also who was in said meeting.

I remember talking with Heather when she was writing this bit and it was my impression that the logistics of the meeting were left fairly open.
There wasn't a specific date, though I think Tash mentioned 'a few days ago' so you could take that as literal or just an loose guide that a meeting took place some time in the first week (so long as no one was specific about WHEN it wouldn't matter).
As for WHO was there, anyone who was at the other White Hat meetings I imagine, also maybe Oz and Ellis etc - any of the other newbies who assisted the WH's at the finale COULD have been invited by an existing member, but of course, I imagine they'd require an 'invitation' rather than just appearing of their own volition.
For the information that was discussed. Anything important should really appear in this forum, maybe Cole's departure or some other such event could have been announced though that is really up to the individual. In reference to anything else, it is my general understanding that this first meeting would have been little more than a means to rebuilding bridges.

I imagine that what Lou said works well. As for the date, if we want to go back to schedulsed meetings, I believe that Heather and I mentioned in passing that the one in the first week was possibly on the 14th which was Thursday. Daye would have attended that meeting. It was a patching up of things for sure.
At the WH meeting, whatever day it was on, Daye would have filled everyone in on the current status of the WC. So...
The Council has decided to keep the lease on the mansion in the hills. It is to become the permanent base for a Los Angeles WC office. Alicia Wyldling will be the head of the LA office. Daye will be going through Delancre's papers and valuables along with WC members. She will be acting as a liason between the WC and WH, but her loyalty is first and foremost to the WH, so she will share only information that has been approved by "committee".
Daye would probably also be announcing the definite plans for the wedding, though the invitations are not yet ready. She would also let everyone know that she is now the sole owner of The Bibliophile.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Oops. You can blame Heather for that bit appearing in the post. I just, uh, forgot about it. Hehe. But her thought was that it would be mostly 'clearing the air' between people.

Yep, essentially that throwaway bit I put in about the WH meeting was simply to indicate that we were starting to get things moving again in that regard. I didn't think any of us would really be up to doing another mega-multi-collab so soon after the finale in order to write it all up, so just kind of chucked in that reference.
I did talk to a few people here and there about the generalities of that meeting (and yes, Ally, it was me you talked to about it), just so it wouldn't come as a complete surprise to everyone.
So yes, a general clearing of the air, a reaffirmation of the principles of the White Hats, and dissemination of any news (such as Alicia's promotion and Daye's wedding). Tash would also have indicated the assistance the Foundation was giving to the Watchers' Council in helping to clean up Delancre's mess - she'll have pledged finances and resources to them to assist with matters both in LA and on the island in Colombia.
Anyway, about to run out of coins for the cafe. Having lovely time in Bicheno Tasmania.

When would the next WH meeting be?

Well, assuming that we stick to the same sort of format as before, and assuming we stick to Thursdays as the main meeting days, then the next meeting after the 14th would be the 21st June, then the 28th June, etc.
Of course, WH members can contact the others at other times if something urgent crops up. Also, we really need to decide early on whether to write up a meeting bit (or have it off-camera) where we figure out whether Marcus, Oz, Ellis, etc are to be invited to join.
If we deal with that issue off-camera, then we just need to jot down in here whether our characters would vote for or against each possible inclusion. In the case of NPCs like Ellis and Mike, whether they'd want to join or would simply stay on the periphery as "associates" needs to be decided as well.
For my case, Tash would likely be in favour of inviting Oz to join, and would be less enthusiastic about Marcus' inclusion but given her current relationship with him would vote in favour also. Hmm, and I just remembered Adriana was never really a member but after the whole Delancre thing I'm sure she'd secure an invitation. Tash would certainly be in favour of her being asked. I can't think of any other PCs off the top of my head...

Well, there's Kyle too. But i dont know if he'd join an association like the WH, would he, Matt?
Ok, in case the reunion remains off camera, these would be Alessa's thougths in the matter of new members:
If Kyle is indeed invited, Alessa would vote to have him in, since she'd probable feel that the WH could be good for him, sort of soften his edges :wink: and give him a sense of direction.
She would certainly want Oz to be invited, and be especially enthusiastic about it. Oz has earned her friendship and respect and she'd try to get her friends see him her way.
She may have her reservations about Adriana, but mostly because of her safety. Adriana is not physically strong (a warrior type strenght, i mean), neither has supernatural powers that she's aware of, and she promised her uncle that she'd take care of her (a promise she's failed miserable to fulfill so far).
She'd follow the trend in the case of Marcus, since she doesnt know him well, but if the majority approves of him she wouldnt vote no. She'd trust her friends' judgement. However, as in Kyle's case, i dont know if Marcus would be interested, that remains to be seen.
Ellis and Mike have their own organization, which is in dire need to be restored after the big battle; so i'd prefer to keep them as 'associates' as you said, Heather. They could be invited to the reunions as needs arise and work with the WH to tackle specific problems, of course. That would give me some flexibility with their characters.
I was asking about the next meeting because Alessa will bring the matter of Morris and his quest for the Eye to her friends. Now, i guess they would probably react in the same way that Ellis and Kyle did: Morris is abroad, the Eye is most probably a myth, so there's no immediate reason to worry. They'll keep their eyes open and their ears tuned, but not much more. At least i suppose they'd react that way.
If you think any of the WH would react in a different way, i'd like you to tell me, because if this meeting is in the 21st, i'm almost there and i'll have to say something about it. Thanks. :D

I feel that Daye would be very enthusiastic about inviting Marcus, obviously. She might even be the one to suggest it in the meeting. She would support inviting Kyle if it seemed a good idea to the others. She would also feel the same way about Oz.
Daye will obviously attend a meeting on the 21st. She has no other business to discuss at that time, though.

ok so about this WH meeting on the 21st. So to answer the questions Darian would be in favor of having Kyle in the WHs, and probably wouldnt object to the other peeps either.
For the Eye question: He would be concerned, but more of a "Whatever you wanna do about it, ill help" kinda thing.
Finally, After the meeting, im planning a post to introduce a new character who appears right after the meeting. SO with that said, when people are leaving Poplar, everyone would be there when said character arrives. It wont really affect anyone, but in my post, it would probably need to include the people there, and if you want, there reactions to what happens. Anyways when I write it, ill post it here, and you guys (if you want) could add a reaction or whatever.
OH which brings me to the final thing: Are we all colabbing that meeting on camera?

I don't believe anyone's planning to collab the meeting on camera. The thing about the WH meetings is that they involve a lot of people, so it'd be a major undertaking if we wanted to do them on camera each time. That was the reason for the birth of this forum in the first place.
Now, sometimes there may be particular things that we want to at least get reactions about (such as Marcus joining) so that's when we solicit opinions from people in a thread in here.
So, post your story bit in here about the new character (you might want to start a new thread) and we'll all put in our two cents' worth about it. :)

Okay, this is an interesting thing that Reah's been playing around with for some time now, and that's to leave the WH, not entirely, but just contract herself or something if she's really needed.
She'll say that she'd still drop in every now and then if she had anything she felt she needed to report to the group to make them aware, but other than that, she finds herself more of a use to them as a call in helping hand. Most times she just sits on her arse trying to stay awake anywhos.
Anyways! She'll be bringing this up on the 21st, so if anyones character would have anything to say to that, just let me know here :D danke

Well, as to say, i'm sure Alessa would be quite shocked to hear these news, and she'll most probably try to talk her out of it. But if it's her decision she'll finally accept it.

Oz can give background on Saint Vigeous (which falls under his Religios Lore talents) if asked...
He is flattered you would ask him, but he does not feel like much of a "team player" and might only attend a few meetings before dropping into a background role.
From the Buffyverse Perspective, St. Vigeous is a completely made-up prospect and all I can find on the subject is this:

Okay, I suppose its about time I said something about Kyle's joining/not joining. I've been thinking about it for a while...
...And I'm coming down on the latter...that of not joining. It's still way too early for him to become a card-carrying WH (at the very earliest after my current storyline...and as I'm still not sure how long I'm going to drag it out for it could be a while).
If anybody wants to bring it up at the meeting, his reaction to the invitation (assuming Darian told him) would be to dissmiss it straight away along the lines of "I took down a Slayer on my own, I don't need you goody-goodys, etc, etc". He's a stubborn, difficult, complicated angsty teen...you can all probably imagine the sort of thing he'd say.
On the subject of Morris...umm...he's not in LA :wink: :wink: *nudge nudge*

I'm gonna follow Matt's lead and state about Adriana's decision.
Most likely, Adriana will want to join. She's feeling *extremely* guilty about everything she'd done when under Hyde, and she would feel this is a way to make up for it.
I just would need someone to give her an invite (and start writing out my posts instead of planning them in my head).

Well, if nobody else brings it up at the meeting on the 21st, I'm sure Tash would propose her inclusion (though maybe Darian would, too - depending on how he still feels about being dumped :wink:). And effectively being Adriana's landlady, Tash could also be the one to go visit and tell Adriana about it. Though again, it depends how the relationship between Darian and Adriana is at that point - maybe he'd want to.
Mind you, since just after the meeting on the 21st (when all these proposed new members would be discussed) Darian meets his old flame, he may be less than inclined to complicate things. In any case, I'm happy to collab something with you on it, Meghan, if you want. Or we can leave it as an off-camera invitation. Or you can collab (or not collab) with Shaun if it's Darian doing the asking. :) Take your pick. :)

Shaun and I have talked about Darian and Adriana's relationship at this point, and have agreed that they are on good terms, but there is some awkwardness between them.
As for the invitation, I'll get back to you once I start cranking out some posts. I'm kinda a writer's block right about now :oops:

What date is Daye/Kate/Alessa calling the emergency White Hat Meeting for? I'd suggest the afternoon of July 22nd. And I'd be all about Round-Robining the whole thing.
And to make it worse, don't forget to add the immolation of Oz DeAngelo to the list of topics...he died on July 17th as far as anyone knows.

When really depends on how soon Daye is able to compose herself to make that first call for help. After that I'd assume, like you have, that an emergency meeting would be called asap. Considering how many people would be involved potentially, I think the round robin is the best way to go (and as usual small groups can collab between themselves if there are specific things that need to be covered) but overall it tends to be a much speedier and less complicated process.

I'm gonna do a follow up post to pull Daye together and get her rolling on getting help, probably tomorrow. She'll undoubtedly try to get in touch with the WH and pull together a posse to go after Tash. Shaun, Robin may have something to say on who dusts vamp Tash. We'll all have to see, but hunting her down at least should be a group effort. I promise you, despite what's happened, Daye can't dust her...it's too much. Emergency meeting should be 22nd and round robin works for me.

Well, I'm hoping Tash could count among her friends Kate, Daye, Nikolai (who's off chanting 'omm' somewhere), Reah, Alessa and Darian. She's really not had enough to do with most of the others to count them as more than potential friends at this stage.
But I get what you mean - Tash and Sorrow were very close friends. Kate and Daye and even Reah probably come close to that level of bond, though. :) But I'm content to let you guys thumb-wrestle for the job.
