Planning for the Season Four Finale

Ok, this is it - finale time.

Assorted MSN discussions amongst some of us have resulted in the following idea being proposed:

That we develop an overall plan in here that we, as players, will be following for the finale. Since this is such a large battle, there will be groups of us doing quite different things, but we'll need to know who else is doing what and when so we can put in appropriate reactions, etc.

What we'll need to know is:

Who is involved.
What area of the fight they'll be focusing on.
Any special weapons/forces/magic/funky shit they'll be bringing along.
Any particular outcome each player has in mind for their character and/or npcs.

For example, Tash will be there.
She'll be able to take back control of Delancre's zombie troops and use them to attack the bulk of the army.
No special outcome required, except I want Tash to survive. Also, I'd like a few of her zombies to make it through so she can deal with them in the aftermath.

If each of us put down a brief summary of what we plan to do, once they're all up we can bring them together and see who'll be working as a team during the fight, and then developing a more detailed timeline plan.

As for the beginning of the fight, it looks like it's going to be held at Runyon Canyon. The only thing is - how exactly will we be getting Delancre AND his whole army to show up there? I've heard something about Maia being used as bait, but I don't see Delancre turning up with his whole army for her. In fact, he's more likely to send someone else to get her, since he tends not to do much of his own dirty work.

So that's another area we'll need to work out. Once we know how the trap is to be set up, we'll have a much clearer idea of how to proceed from there.

So, let's start with thoughts on bringing Delancre and the army to the party, and an initial summary of the disposition of your characters - go for it, guys.

Exactly. :)

There's a reason we call those big-arse battle posts the finale... they're meant to be the last or next-to-last post of the season.

If we do an epilogue it should be the equivalent of the five-minute wrapup, no more. Anything more than that then becomes a lead-in for the next season, and properly belongs as a MidSeason post.

After listening to everyone's opinion here, I think maybe we shouldn't do an epilogue post after all. The finale can well stand on it's own, and the Midseason is following right on the heels of that, so...

%&#~@@#&%$!!!!

Last night, while I was peacefully sleeping a ray struck near my home and burnt my pc and one of my tv's.

I'm taking it to the service today, but i dont know how much damage it suffered, so i dont know how long it will take to get 'cured'.

Problem is, i had a couple of posts i was working on that go before the finale in its hard drive, and i dont think i can rewrite them with enough time; if i can rewrite them at all!! (One of them, the primal form ritual, it's been hard to write and i can't even think of doing it again without bursting to tears)

However, i wont hold the boards since we are all dying to finish this season. I just wanted to explain why my ritual could end going as a flashback next midseason.

I wont be available much to finish my collabs either, only when I'm at school (like now) but those times are limited. Fortunately i think there's only one with Shaun left to finish.

Sorry

Yikes! It's like a global conspiracy! Obviously somebody upstairs doesn't want Season Four to end... EVER! 8O

Well, barring Ally's computer woes, the feint and finale are both just about ready, it seems. Currently the only bits I'm still waiting for are from Matt and Shaun in relation to the Kyle/Cole thing with Ana during the finale. Matt tells me he's done his solo bits, but given Shaun's recent move and lack of internet, getting together to collab the last part is proving tricky.

I think Lou's right. Someone doesn't want us to ever finish this season...

Still, at least all the intervening posts are written - apart from the ones Ally lost. So as soon as we've whipped Matt and Shaun enough that they actually get their last bit written (and it's not like we didn't try to get that PRE-written too, guys... not that I'm looking at anyone in particular Mr "I have a week-long party" Matt...) we can maybe get these two last posts on the board and close her off.

It was two weeks :P

We've planned to get that last bit done today, fingers crossed.

Well, that seems to be it. :)

So far as I know I now have all the bits that had to be inserted into the finale... so both the feint and finale can go up any time we're ready for them now.

The finale is HUGE. I'd say it's going to have to be split into at least three, if not four, segments in order to be posted without the board truncating it. I've not yet done a final run through the entire document for consistency, flow, etc, though I have started that process at least. While I'm doing that I'll try to find relevant places where we can split this monster - and then we should decide who gets to post which segment.

Er... many apologies for not having finished my editing yet. I blame myself for taking Greek and Latin again. Hope to have it finished over the weekend, however.

*sigh* There's always got to be one, eh?

Yep. It just happens that this time it's the classicist who has translated more sentances about Dicaeopolis carrying the stones from the field to last a lifetime.
