Those of you who have been on this board long enough may have experienced a nasty flashback today (Friday, 23rd July). I speak of none other than the "Great Purge" of March 2002, when we lost the entire board and had to recreate the game posts from assorted internet caches. It was a scary, scary time and one that some of us revisted today when the server completely turned up its toes and died.
However, thanks to the marvels of modern technology and the dedication of Dave (and his workmates, since LABN lives on his server at work), the site came back up after being down all day, with - so far as I can tell - no loss of data whatsoever. Ok, maybe someone might have posted in the WAG during the wee small hours after it backed up and before it died, but all our game posts are intact, as is the timeline and everything else of importance.
*whew*
Right, I'm off to have a stiff drink and wait for the tremors to stop...

Turns out Matt's computer was loading from his cache. After a SHIFT-refresh all is now well with him, for those of you who are wondering. :)
