Ok, a few people have asked me if we're going to have a time jump soon, and I have to say I'm inclined to agree that one is needed in the not too distant future. The game's only up to mid-March and it's already the end of April!
So... my proposal is that we do a time jump from game time 16th March (since I know a lot of us - me included - have posts that are prewritten up to the 15th currently) to mid-April, or possibly even to the end of April, to catch ourselves up a bit.
I'm holding out a hope that I'll get to do a collab for the White Hat meeting on 22nd March, but if we get it done in time (subtle hint there, guys... let me know if you're coming to the meeting or not so we can arrange this collab) then I can post it during the 24 hour wait while the time jump happens.
Ditto for anyone else who has anything that they HAVE to post on game days that are jumped - so long as you post them during the pause between mid-March and the April date we pick, that's fine. If you miss the deadline and can't post it until after we've jumped, then the usual "post it as a flashback" rule applies. (Yes, complete with 'current time' end pieces, to place it in a chronological timeframe consistent with the date of the game board at the time.)
Please post comments, suggestions, objections, etc, about this proposed time jump in here... we have a few days before the board catches up to the 15th, since it's on the 13th now. But since most of us have the 14th and 15th prewritten, it won't be THAT long. :wink:

I have a collab for the 18th to do with Robin, one for the 19th to try to finish with Amanda, and a solo or two to write for the 21st before a collab already done for the 21st can go up. Then ANOTHER collab for the 21st to do.
After that, will be ready for a jump.

Ok, it looks like all of Adam's catch-up collabs must be done, since his collab with Lou on the 22nd is on the board...
Which also means that the game date is now 21st/22nd... and that the time jump is rapidly approaching. Those of you who have been saying you needed a week to finish up some writing have now had a couple of weeks, so hopefully all that writing is done and we're ready to jump once the game date gets done with the 23rd April. I don't doubt that it will still be a few days.
Consider this your reminder that it's not far off now. I know there are a few of you already keen to jump, and no doubt others are panicking at how fast it's come upon us. It's always a fine line between waiting long enough for the stragglers to catch up and moving forward enough so that those who are up to date don't get bored with waiting. But with the way our main seasons are structured, of course, it is important that we keep together as much as possible.
Hopefully there's been more than enough discussion about this time jump so that nobody can say they're unprepared for it. :)

Oh shit, the time jump is THAT close? Oy, I haven't been paying attention due to catching up in school. This has also left me little time to write. Talk aboot a wake up call! I have a few things to post before April 23rd (rest assured, it's only three things). Then I'll be ready for the time jump.

Tsk, tsk, you shouldn't be surprised. We've been talking for some time about the time jump happening from the 23rd April game time. :) And if you've been paying attention to the "final stretch" thread in the Private Game Discussion forum, you'd also know that the time jump is happening this weekend... (yes, folks, today and tomorrow).
Monday we expect to be seeing posts from 1st May. And the next time jump won't be far behind that, either, I daresay, even if it's a mini-jump. Unless, of course, we manage to space out our posts nicely so there aren't any big holdups (which happen when we wait for some people to catch up to certain game days). From here on in it should be moving at a fairly constant pace, with perhaps a small jump here and there.
From those I've been chatting to, most of us are hanging out for the jump, and have posts that range from 1st May through to about the 5th May. So possibly we'll get them up pretty quickly then see how we go from there.
If everyone's amenable, we might skip a few days from 5th May to, say the 8th or 9th... Right now I'm hoping most people (and I know I've got half a collab and one solo still to write :oops: ) will have most of their posts ready for 1st May onwards for a few days. And while they're being posted and others are getting their 1st to 5th May posts up, that's the time to be writing the 8th, 9th, 10th, etc of May pieces. So when the time comes, we can just put them up and move on. :)
Every season I keep thinking that this time we'll stay on target right from the beginning. LOL Ah well, maybe some day... Yeah, I know, living in eternal hope. :)
