I like the strawberry farm. I love the idea of a married vampire. (Till dust do we part...).

I think this player is confused in that making a person a vampire does kill them. Dead is dead. But thats a minor point.

I want to know:
--How exactly did you "acquire" a strawberry farm?
--Tell me about your wife.
--Why can you jump well? Were you a particualrly gifted jumper as a human? How far can you jump now? (By comparison: Angel has demonstrated the ability to jump as much as 10 feet straight up and more than 20 feet across)
--If he's a 'lover not a fighter' why does he have a pistol AND a rifle AND a shotgun in his backpack?
--How scummy is it that a MARRIED vampire goes "mainly for female prey"...what does your wife have to say about that? ;)

Theres a spark here and I have time to wait. Keep working n it, and you could have a really good character in a few months. If you decide not to keep trying, can I use this guy as an NPC?

Subject: Revising my application.
----

Chris aquired the strawberry farm from inheritance.
Chrissy is Brown haired, medium length,Blue eyes.
Chris could jump amazingly far as a human, due to constant jogs, and
kickboxing.
In the rare occasion he is confronted by a vampire slayer, he draws his
weapons, hoping for a peaceful ending, preferably the vampire slayer
becoming a vampire ;) .
Chris usaly goes for female prey as a result of Chris being so paranoid (and
homophobic) about male homosexuals.
"I think this player is confused in that making a person a vampire does kill
them. Dead is dead."
What is that supposed to mean? Chris was made a vampire and hes not dead .

There's a couple of problems I can see with this character proposal:

"Good vampire" - not in the Buffyverse, I'm afraid. Vampires are evil demons that have inhabited the soulless corspe of a human. Individual vampires may be more or less evil, but none of them are 'good'.

Background detail - where is it? I have no sense of the personality of this vampire. There are a couple of sketchy bits, but not much by way of elaboration. I love the strawberry farm, and the fact that he married after he and his wife were vampirised, but again there's no sense of what either of those things mean to him.

When Dave asked what the wife is like, I'm sure he didn't just want a physical description. What is she like?

Quote:
"I think this player is confused in that making a person a vampire does kill them. Dead is dead."
What is that supposed to mean? Chris was made a vampire and hes not dead .

Yes, he is. To be made a vampire, the body dies, the soul goes off to wherever souls go, and the empty shell is inhabited by an evil demon who animates the corpse. The original person is dead. Their memories and some personality traits are 'remembered' by the new demon, and in the Buffyverse it seems that the demon doesn't really have a personality of its own, so it cobbles together something from the remnants, creating a persona that in some ways is very similar to the deceased human - but is not that person. It's a soulless husk.

There's an excellent essay on the board written by Graham, one of our former members, which describes in detail the mythos of the vampires as used in this game. http://www.latenightgames.com/labynight/resources/vamp.html

The mechanics and philosophy of what a vampire is aside, this character definitely needs more fleshing out. What small snippets there are here are intriguing, but there's not enough to make this a fully-fledged pc.

Given our full-to-bursting capacity at the moment, a proposal has to be fairly extraordinary to be accepted at this time, so my vote has to be 'no'.

I think this character was ok....niether good nor bad, but could be improved through some revision though....

however we still have to consider the fact of taking people in and whether we are too full to take this character in? for one thing our numbers have grown and we really have to consider new characters...

what i mean to say is that in my opinion i don't think this character is up to the quality of labn currently and because of the high rate of charcter proposals is this character as competitive?

i'm sorry to be so mean but i have to give it a thumbs down....

however if this person revises this character to form a fabulous character, the kind we expect at labn, this character having a good plausible background, then i have no problem....

I put no because I feel, like Saadia, that there isn't much here that is so special that we can find room for them. And since we're very much in the middle of season three, I don't think we should be thinking of adding more players till midseason - which by that time we will know which of our newbies are in for the long haul :D
