Priorities:
1) Water (distilled steam)
2) Food (Battle Fiends?)
3) Shelter (Steam vent)
4) Communications (Tash)
5) Plan to complete mission (relay mission)
6) Medical (modified slime?)
7) Complete mission
8) Return

Water: Steam vents release heat and moisture from the manufacturing process all over the planet surface. These vents are not constructed but rather happen naturally (and sometimes spontaneously). Occasionally deviant GBFs (or parts of them) are blown free in these steam ruptures.

Food: Battle Fiends are nutrient-rich and edible (there are no harmful biological elements to cause illness) but they need to be cooked hot enough to destroy any leftover slime. Since there isn’t anything that burns on the surface, steam is the best option. However to increase the temperature a vent will need to be capped to drive up the temperature high enough to cook them (around 500°F/250°C degrees).

Heather and I estimate 150 lbs of edible material from a single GBF, which will feed 5 people for about a week because it will not spoil.

Short-term effects: The Slime is everywhere. It will coat their skin and it will be in the water they distill and it will be everywhere and on everything. It however is mostly harmless to them. It will process their sweat into usable nutrients so it may be possible to “snack” on your own excretions (since GBFs automatically recycle them) by licking your arms or eating feces.

Long term effects: eventually (after about 6 months) the buildup of slime in the human system will result in kidney stones and gallstones and arthritis as the slime deposits nutrients into holding places (this is part of what they are designed to do), this will eventually lead to an endocrine shutdown and/or renal failure.

Medical: No infection because there is nothing left alive. No bacteria.

Resources: We have a first aid kit with the usual things you’d find in a car first aid kit…antiseptic (useless), adhesive bandages (more useful), gauze pads, pencil, small book, first aid manual, q-tips/cotton buds, iodine (questionable usefulness), alcohol swab (maybe 2). We have a 750ml bottle of Vodka (unopened).

The front end of the car has an engine, radiator (water that can be distilled), antifreeze, oil, a small amount of fuel (in the fuel lines), springs, metal, foam rubber, fabric, wire, glass (windscreen and windows), cabling, paper, rubber mats, rubber tubing, Battery (with acid), starter motor, coil, switches, tires (2), hubcaps (2), pulleys, belts, Air conditioner (coolant), propeller (cooling fan), and plenty of plastic bits.

Wallets, clothing, belts, weapons, and other personal gear will need to be inventoried.

G’rnatha is not particularly hot or cold but it is windy and humid. It never gets pitch-black dark but gets sort of blue twilight at night and gets a diffuse grey during the day. The terrain is devoid of any large mountains or bodies of water, but is full of crevices, valleys canyons, and crags. One G’rnathan day lasts about 30 hours from “sunrise” to “sunrise”.

G’rnathans don’t go out much unattended or alone. They generally stay in their holding bin with the rest of their squadron. Occasionally GBFs are sent on small squad missions to investigate damage from steam vents or to repair ruptures in a manufacturing facility. Sometimes they are sent as individual units on recon missions.

Generally though they stand around a lot. A GBF moving alone looks very suspicious. A GBF traveling in a small squad is much more common. It may be possible to fabricate a GBF “puppet” to wear in order to pass less noticeably around the entrances to the tunnels.

So…

Goals For Monster Collab Post 2:
-Get overview from Z’thrukaht (exposition)
-Scout for steam vent (some action – small team perhaps?)
-Find ‘cooked’ GBF parts (no spoilage) – Who gets to taste it first?
-Assemble collection of GBF armor bits. – The stuff can be used for lots of things
-Salvage car and anything else we can get.
-Get initial mission from Z’thrukaht (exposition)

Ha! I can inventory Nikolai's stuff right now. ;)

Odds are, he was probably wearing something like a grey leisure suit, would have his wallet, driver's liscence, and keys. The only other thing on him being the .45 Taurus.

Which gives him exactly 11 rounds - five in the mag, and one in the chamber - that he is capable of using.

Random Thought of the Day: I'm thinking, just for fun and because I like to torment my charecters, that something about Nikolai's physiology won't be too fond of the nanites that are floating around. His hyperventilation might have helped or hurt. Haven't developed any specific thoughts yet, though they might be harmless and humourous, dangerous, or involve temporary powers.

Don't know, haven't decided. Thought still developing. :)
