Ok, so I guess Ill be the first...This could be a good counter to the magic users, and also im sure he would have some beef with Oz. WHy are they fighting the WH? well because the mysterious evil person finally freed him in return for his word to help

Name: Orus the Fallen

Race- Angel (Fallen)

Sex- Male

Real name- Orus

Nickname-
The Fallen, The Betrayer, The Dark Star etc etc…

Birth date and location- Divine Fire (birthplace of all Angels)

Group Affiliation- Black Hats

Description:

Orus appears as a tall, imposing man in his mid thirties. He is rather strong of build, with broad shoulders, and a powerful frame. He has neatly kept dark hair and, like all of the angels, is considerably handsome. His expression is constantly cold and calm; whether or not Orus is actually capable of smiling anymore is a mystery. Orus’ eye’s are usually closed because his actually eyeballs were removed as punishment for joining Lucifer’s army. On the rare occasion that they are open, you would see only black voids, as if looking into a cold abyss.

When in ‘angel’ mode, a black, cracked halo hovers above his head which seems to absorb the light, making it dimmer around him. Also a black charred, translucent breast plate covers whatever he is wearing.
Orus is played by Julian McMahon

History:

Why should children born of fire bow before an infant of clay?

Such was Lucifer’s convincing argument, so convincing in fact that one third of the celestial host joined with him in his crusade against God. Orus was part of that one third.

Before the great siege of Heaven, Orus worked along with God and the other angels for the betterment of mankind. He was a miracle provider, blessing the good and righteous with a touch of divinity. Whether it be curing interminable illnesses, making cripples walk, or saving sailors from huge storms, whenever something miraculous happened, chances are Orus was for sure close. For ages he labored this way, content of his position in God’s eyes, until the day the Holy Son was born.

It was then that the most beautiful and loved among them, Lucifer, began to rally his army. How could god claim that Christ was his heir and chosen son, destined to inherit Earth and Heaven when, they, the wondrous angels had toiled so long in His name? No, such was unacceptable.

And so, Orus joined with the traitors, acting as a spy for Lucifer, always keeping the fallen prince updated on the other angels’ doings. When the black day finally came, Orus openly banded with the rebel angels finally showing his true colours. Of course, Lucifer’s gambit did not pay off, and they were defeated by those loyal to God.

While Lucifer was cast into hell, Orus was chained in the coldest of places in a mystical cell to lament for all eternity. Also, because he had spied on God and the angels, Orus eye’s were seared from his skull by the Arch Angel Michael’s fiery sword.

It has been eons since Orus has given up hope that someone would find his prison. He still remains there, to this day, chain and shackled for his crimes.

Powers and Abilities:

Orus can fly. Like most angels, he can hide his wings having them only appear when he is in ‘angel’ mode. While they used to be brilliant, shimmering flames they have since changed over time. Although they remain translucent, they now appear more like a dead crow’s wings; dark and skeletal where feathers are missing.

While he remains undying, Orus is not technically immortal. He can now be killed by mortals although such a task would be extremely difficult. Orus possesses superhuman strength, and invulnerability, and is almost completely immune to magic.

When in ‘Angel’ mode, his dark halo not only absorbs light, but also exudes a form of fear aura. He can control its intensity, making people around him either uneasy or completely terrified. Only the courageous and strong of willed can fight this ability.

Though most angels wield a sword, Orus’ weapon of choice is blunt mace. In the past, when he would gently touch someone with it, it would perform some helpful miracle, but its powers have since twisted. Now, when struck with Orus’ mace, the target is cursed (Symptoms can last as short as a few hours up to as long as a few days. Symptoms can include blindness, paralysis, shooting pain through the body…)

The following is someone who inspiration just hit me for today and I wrote up - I'm not going to do much to develop this one unless people ask me to, as I already have another Black Hat in mind to counter Nikolai (and will be putting finishing touches on that one). And you know... I've been threatening to make a vampire out of Udo Kier for a while now - mainly because he does vampire films constantly - and has on at least one occassion played the role of Count Dracula.

Pretty much all of his history is up for grabs, but I wanted to make a vampire who fell into neither the brutal thug or arrogant aristocrat camp, while at the same time still being a twisting of ideals... just in a different direction.

Odds are, he'll arise as a challenge to any of the hunters in our group. Also, there are things about organisation in his background so he could easily hook up with the remnants of the Black Veins. Mostly, however, I don't see this one as being the more direct threat - he's more likely to be the person that the 'mysterious benefactor' recruited simply to keep the Black Hats in line and working towards their goals, perhaps even to be the fall vampire.

For an idea of Udo Kier's voice... if you've seen Blade, think back to Elder Dragonetti. You know the guy who went on about 'purebloods' all the time.

Name: Vigo Jaeger

Race: Vampire

Nickname: The Iron Vampire

Birth Date/Location: East Prussia, 1845

Description:
leftVigo is forever locked at his age of 49, the time of his turning, with jet black hair beginning to grey, and a bit of stubble on his face. Always one to keep up with present fashions every-now-and-then rather than constantly, he tends towards modern suits though his hair style might be a decade out of date.

Cold and with a heavy accent, Vigo’s personality is always imposing and controlling. As his name implies, he has something of the look of a hunter about him. Despite his origins, he has a hatred of Aristocracy; a trait which has put him at odds with a number of other vampires.

History:

Born in Eastern Prussia, the son of minor nobility, the young Vigo was destined for a career in the military. However, his military career was deeply impacted by his service under the man who he admired most: Otto von Bismarck. Vigo’s artillery unit saw action in all three of the series of wars which ended with the unification of Germany and the birth of the Second Reich in 1871.

Vigo’s career, however, became far less interesting at this point. After the 1871 victory over France, his family consumed in scandal, Vigo found himself stripped of rank. To this day, he does not know why. Living as a merchant for nearly two decades, the final straw in his mortal life came in 1894 when, being attacked, he was made into a vampire.

leftThe new Vigo soon found himself, in the world of vampires, able to more readily establish himself than he ever had as a human. Approaching problems with what could only be called Teutonic Efficiency, the vampire proved to be an effective organiser.

Following Bismark’s formula of ‘Blood and Iron’ to the letter, Vigo soon established himself as a credible, alternate leader of vampires to the old Aristocratic order. It was with no small measure of self-noted irony that Vigo was dubbed the ‘Iron Vampire’ after the ‘Iron Chancellor’ of Germany.

Despite his roots, Vigo came to despise the Aristocratic vampires. He came to see many of the older ones as unable to produce the necessary change, interested only in the eternal preservation of “customs which were antiquated five hundred years ago.”

Of the events in Vigo’s history, three are worth noting. The first was that shortly after the First World War ended, he managed – nobody is quite sure how – to end up in command of a unit in the Freikorps. To this day, Vigo claims that his greatest regret “is not hastening with all speed to Munich, and putting that Bavarian Corporal beneath the Earth!” since his unit was in the wrong part of Germany.

His second milestone came during the Second World War, when Vigo started working in the resistence; still thinking of himself as a German and a Prussian soldier, he saw himself acting in some of the military’s traditions when he arranged for a few vampires to pass on intelligence to the Allies; he even directed those who followed him to ignore the Slayer and work with the Council so long as England continued to be at war with Hitler.

Third and most well-known among vampires is the 1965 incident where he met Count Vladimir Dracula. Nobody is left alive who witnessed the incident, but the story says that the two of them got into some great argument, fought inconclusively, and Vigo has referred to the Count only as ‘the Impaler’ ever since.

Wish that I could take credit for the idea of this one. However, in thinking about someone who could counter Nikolai, I wanted to take someone who could try to hit him in his most vulnerable place: as someone who now believes in a balance between good and evil, and the necessity of sometimes doing evil, why not try to swing him to evil?

It was Shaun's suggestion for a Succubus and, after a little research, said "Ah well. Can have fun with this idea." She could be a foil to pretty much all of the men, depending on what she does, but designed her to go after Nik.

Name: Alaia Nahia
Race: Succubus
Gender: Female
Real Name: Tanora
Nicknames: Seductress; Temptress; Corrupter
Birth Date/Location:

Description:
leftHuman Form – Tanora’s human form, presently going by the name Alaia Nahia, is of a younger woman with blue eyes and straight red-hair which hangs down to her shoulders. She has a look about of her of someone who has travelled a lot, but still manages to maintain an attractive edge about her. She also stands at an imposing 5 feet, 9 inches tall.

(The Human Form of Tanora is played by Patricia Tallman)

Demonic Form
Tanora’s demonic form stands at the same height as her human form, and undergoes a number of morphological changes: her eyes become a dark black, and her hair the same colour. Her ears come to pointed ends, and she has two small horns which come out, and semi-spiral around to form one circle. Her teeth are more pointed, and take on the look of fangs, while her skin becomes a light blue colour. Most noticeable is the pair of black, bat-like wings on her back.

History:
Tanora is, like all Succubi, a direct descendent of Lillith, who was created from the Earth. More than that, however; Tanora managed to become regarded, in some parts, as the Demon of Temptation, particularly a form of sexual temptation. Most of her targets would be men of wealth, power, and moral standing; or if not of superb morality, then at least those who are more on balance good than evil.

Tanora's interests are different from those of most other Succubi. It is not enough for her to merely break men. For her to feel truly fulfilled, she must convince a man, of his own volition, to willingly descend into evil. She regards her greatest victories as being when she convinces a moral man to do evil in the belief that he is serving good with actions which are admittedly immoral.

Centuries of experience have left Tanora with a desire for a challenge. She no longer regards most people as being really worth the time or effort to be put into corrupting them, since it’s just so… easy. This eagerness for a challenge has been her downfall on occasion, where rather than settling for the victory that appears ready to occur, she has to reach for more.

She has had a number of brushes with death over her time. Usually this comes with either the attempt to ensare a lover, or more often, one discovering her true nature and attempting to banish or destroy her. Needless to say, her empathic projection has given her an edge in these, though on a few close occasions she was attacked by someone who was friends with the victim and realised what was going on.

Powers
Gliding – In demonic form, Tanora can use her wings to glide. It should be noted that she often gives the appearance of flying while doing this, but that is little more than a clever illusion.

Empathy– Tanora has the ability to pick up on emotions, and a limited ability to enhance emotional feel. On the reception side, she has a long practice at detecting the nuances of emotions to the point where she can notice little details to detect things such as deception.

On the projection side, Tanora has the ability to both dampen and incite certain emotions in people, but only if they are already present on some level. She could not, for example, make a sociopath actually care about other people – but she could make his lack of concern slightly less.

Special Note: Tanora may form, over time, a stronger version of the bond with one person (and only one) at a time. She is psychologically incapable of doing this with anyone other than her target. This stronger bond allows her to slowly manipulate emotional response over time, even when she is not actually present.

Life Drain – Tanora, while she can survive on regular food, has her own unique way of sustaining herself. Each time she has sexual intercourse, she drains a bit of the life energy from the subject. This is a completely automatic response; she can’t stop it, just get a better control on the amount that she does drain. It can, potentially, prove fatal over the long-run.

Transformation – Tanora has a ‘human’ and a ‘demon’ form which she may slide between almost at will.

Gideon Rook

Meredith Bell's picture

leftGideon Rook

Race: Poltergeist/Restless Malevolent Spirit

Sex: Male

Nickname: N/A

Real Name: Gideon Rook

Birth Date and Location: 17th November 1669 - Salem, Massachusetts

Died: 24th July 1692 - Salem, Massachusetts

Group Affiliation: The Black Hats

Gideon is played by Cillian Murphy

Description:
rightAppearance ~
As a human male, Gideon was considered particularly handsome in an adolescent, boyish kind of way, with floppy, overgrown chestnut hair and dark blue eyes. Standing at 5’9” he wasn’t particularly tall though his years working as an apprentice blacksmith had given him an exceptionally toned and strong physique.

Personality ~
Having spent over three centuries in limbo, there is very little left of Gideon’s mortal memory, he barely remembers his former self and has all but forgotten his sweetheart Sarah. It is his desire for revenge and his hatred of humanity that drive him to create as much discord and chaos as possible, and have also made him both unpredictable and fiercely sadistic.

However, when in possession of a host, he is able for a short time, to experience human emotions again – that is, before his innate nature takes over.

Background:
Thou Shalt Not Suffer a Witch to Live!

Before the hysteria of the Witch Trials in the summer of 1692, Gideon Rook lived the simple life of a blacksmith’s apprentice in the village of Salem, Massachusetts. Orphaned at a young age, Gideon enjoyed a modest life comprised mostly of hard work and was widely known as a dedicated member of the parish. All that changed however, when his childhood sweetheart – farmer’s daughter Sarah Wildes, whom he planned to marry that coming harvest, was arrested along with a number of other townswomen on a false accusation of practising witchcraft.

In an attempt to clear her name, Gideon protested Sarah’s innocence only to find himself arrested also on suspicion of collaborating with a witch. As the hysteria increased, the hangings began. Dozens of innocent men and women found themselves convicted as guilty of practising the dark arts and were subsequently executed. On July 30th, Sarah was tried as a witch and after a dismal trial was pronounced guilty and sentenced to death.

leftFrom his prison cell, Gideon watched with a broken heart as his only love was marched to Gallows Hill amongst a jeering crowd – people whom, only months before had been their trusted friends. That night, Gideon slept in the shadow of Sarah’s lifeless body as she hung from the boughs of the old oak at Gallows Hill, he slept and dreamt of revenge.

The next day Gideon confessed to being a witch, wanting nothing more than to die and be with his beloved. However, instead of being executed, Gideon was instead isolated along side other confessed ‘witches’ to be later called upon to give testimony at trial. Gideon was enraged. That he, after confessing to such a crime should have his life spared while his darling Sarah, who had always pleaded her innocence, should be marched to her death! Where was the justice?

It was at one such trial, giving testimony against another poor innocent soul accused of witchcraft, that Gideon took his own life by setting himself on fire.

As he burned, Gideon cursed the town of Salem and vowed his revenge. Such was his rage that his spirit could not find eternal rest and pass to the other side. Gideon’s need for vengeance was so powerful that he was left in a permanent state of limbo, trapped between the world of the living and the world of the dead.

Over the years, Gideon systematically tormented those that had sentenced his sweetheart to her death, increasing in strength with the passing decades. He is still looking for vengeance.

Powers/Abilities:
rightPsychokinesis ~
As a non-corporeal spirit, Gideon has the various powers and skills usually associated with being a ghost or poltergeist such as the ability to travel through solid surfaces such as walls and floors unhindered. He also has the power of psychokinesis - that is, the ability to influence the behaviour of solid objects by mental intention alone.

Because he is made up primarily of displaced energy, Gideon’s presence also often has a disruptive effect on surrounding electrical equipment.

Spiritual Possession ~
One of Gideon’s stronger powers is the ability to temporarily ‘possess’ another living creature. He can usually possess any creature (including demons and other supernatural entities) so long as that creature is alive at the time (so not vampires or zombies since they’re technically dead already). While in possession of another body Gideon no longer has the powers of a poltergeist but instead assumes the abilities of the person that he has possessed (although with increased strength and vigour).

There are certain limits to this ability, for example, the length of time that Gideon can possess a being for is directionally proportional to how strong willed that being is. This is because, the stronger the host, the more energy it takes for Gideon to control them. It is also possible to kill Gideon if his living host is killed while he is still in possession of their body. However, this is very difficult to accomplish as Gideon’s spirit will simply ‘jump’ to another host before death occurs so long as there is a host available within a one-mile radius.

The other limit is that mirrors and any other reflective surfaces will reveal Gideon’s true image. Therefore he must avoid such surfaces in order to escape being discovered.

Raúl Montero

Well, you know this one, but I thought I could flesh him out a little and present him as a possible Black Hat. There wasn’t anything there that said that they couldn’t be old chars. Hope you like him. Mostly I tried to show why he was insane in the first place.

***
right
Name: Raúl Montero

Race: Verbati Demon

Place and date of birth: Iguazú Rain Forest, late XIX Century

Gender: male

Affiliation: Black Hats

Raúl is played by Eduardo Noriega

Description:
Raúl’s human form is that of a handsome dark haired, dark eyed man in his early thirties. He is well formed and athletic, and moves with suppleness and grace. Raúl is a great dancer and a skilled Capoerista, and that shows. Raúl likes to wear sports clothes, although when working ‘incognito’ he usually wears the spy’s typical raincoat. When in his demon form, Raúl’s fur is completely black.

History:
Raúl Montero’s mother died during childbirth, after a long and difficult delivery. The creature was born small and weak, and it was feared he would die before his first year. It was fortunate, though, that after those first months Raúl grew up strong and fast with no marked evidence of his life’s beginning. However, after a few years went by, it was clear that Raúl wasn’t like the rest of the young. He completely lacked the psychic abilities of his kind, probably due to his difficult birth. Even if it was common that some Verbati were born without those talents, the complete lack of them was an unaccounted for event, for all Verbatis could at least receive the thoughts or emotions of those with greater power.

This characteristic of his had several repercussions on Raúl’s life, on different levels, all of them leading to his final insanity.

Verbati’s psychic link was essential to the tribe’s feeling of bonding and identity. The young were raised collectively and thus they were trained and taught, but telepathy was an important part of that process, so inherent that the demons didn’t know how to take care of a child like Raúl. So, Raúl grew in isolation, never quite developing the sense of belonging and community the rest of the tribe shared, and becoming increasingly bitter and angry towards the rest of the ‘normal’ children.

Also, he was no longer in the line of succession. Verbati’s political structure is that the oldest and most powerful demon naturally becomes the leader of the tribe, but leaders usually come from the same line. Raúl’s family had given the tribe many chiefs, among them his grandfather, Shongu. However, a non-psychic Verbati could never become head of the tribe.

As most children that find themselves ‘lacking’, Raúl reacted with violence and sneakiness. He started bullying the rest, being mean and wily. His physical strength gave him at least that power over them, and he wanted to use it. Of course, this only aggravated his isolation.

With the passing of the years, Raúl’s bullying and nastiness grew as well. He couldn’t, or wouldn’t, conform to social norms, and repeatedly did unheard of acts, like attacking other demons, or mauling animals, even attacking humans and putting the whole tribe in danger. His reckless behaviour and disregard for his safety or that of the tribe’s brought him to the verge of banning several times, but Raúl’s mind was completely blank to other Verbatis as much as theirs were to him, so he could get away from those deeds simply by lying.

leftNevertheless, when Raúl’s sister, Inés, was born, things changed for him Here was a creature that didn’t mind that he couldn’t ‘hear’ her, that he couldn’t sense her or that he would never become the tribe’s leader. Inés was everything he had always wanted to be, intelligent, funny and ‘normal’. Her extrasensory abilities weren’t the most powerful, but they were ‘there’. Everybody loved Inés, but most importantly, Inés loved him. In Inés’ eyes he could do no wrong, and so, for a while, Raúl tried to actually fit in.

But Inés grew up, and her interests changed. As any young female, other things started to appeal her, especially members of the opposite sex. Raúl couldn’t stand this, he couldn’t stand her beloved sister liking other demons, the thought of her becoming attached to any demon other than him was completely unbearable, and thus Raúl became totally insane with jealousy. Using his morphing, he followed Inés around, observing every movement, every action. When Inés finally showed her attraction for another young Verbati, Raúl snapped. After watching them during a tryst, he waited till his sister left the demon to viciously attack and kill him.

If Raúl had been in his right mind, he wouldn’t have been discovered, but as it was, he was sloppy, and evidence pointed clearly towards him. Murder was an unforgivable crime and Raúl was shunned from the tribe, forbidden to come back ever.

That didn’t mean that Raúl would follow the tribe’s dictates. Taking advantage of his mental blankness he just didn’t leave the rainforest and kept observing Inés from afar. He lived this way for years, just around. If he was close to insanity before, this new and forced isolation completely turned him mad.

It was about this time when Inés cousin, Alessandra, came to live with the Verbatis. Raúl didn’t like the half-blood girl, becoming jealous of this new and strong bonding that Inés was forming. He saw Alessa filling the space he had left empty in Inés’ life. Alessa never knew of it, but he had been close to attack her several times, and only his twisted love for his sister prevented him from doing it. Raúl's bad feelings about the half-blood proved right, though, when Inés decided to leave the jungle and start living in the human world, as her cousin did.

Terrified at the thought of losing her, Raúl approached Inés in the jungle. She was surprised, but she still loved her brother, so she was also happy to see him again. She had never believed that he had been responsible for the murder of her lover, and had appealed for his return to the tribe. However, the Raúl facing her wasn’t the beloved brother she remembered. Raúl’s eyes were frenzied, and his tone strangely frantic when he pleaded her to leave the tribe and go to live with him in the jungle. Finally, Inés realized what Raúl pretended from her. He didn’t want her as a sister, was he was proposing was unnatural and sick and she recoiled in horror.

Seeing revulsion in his sister’s eyes did it. Raúl was overcome by rage, rage about it all, about the unfairness of his life, the unbending will of his tribe, his sister not loving him the way he did… For the second time in his life, Raúl snapped. Inés saw the change and was terrified so she run, and Raúl pursued. He cornered her in a ledge over the falls, and ultimately gave way to his unnatural need of his sister, raping her cruelly and violently.

When he finished, and got up from Inés’ broken body he felt no remorse, just a cruel satisfaction, like what had happened was something that had been bound to happen some time or another. Something normal. Something good. Inés was finally his, he wouldn't let her go from his side again. He stayed like that for a while, just fondling her, telling her how happy they'd be, how right it was... until he noticed that Inés wasn't moving, she didn't seem to be even breathing. Raúl panicked. He knelt next to his sister, trying to make her react to no avail. Believing she was dead, Raúl despaired and shouted his rage to the unsympathetic waterfalls. It was only hours later that he stood up and left the place, never coming back to the falls again.

left He moved to the human world, barely surviving before realizing that his morphing abilities, physical strength and skills at fighting would make him a very good assassin and mercenary. He has been at this line of work for years, forging a reputation and quite a fortune at it. He never failed, was completely unremorseful and there wasn’t a job he wouldn’t do. That was, until he met James Connor.

In his course of taking revenge for Inés’ raping, the vampire defeated and tortured Raúl, leaving him almost dead at a hospital door. When Inés learnt of this fact, she convinced his grandfather to accept Raúl back in the jungle, alleging that his assassin career couldn’t be allowed to continue. Shongu then sent a couple of powerful Verbatis, the Manolos*, to pick up Raúl and bring him back to the jungle.

Raúl has been at the Iguazú Rainforest since that time, healing his wounds and learning all he could about Ines’ life after he left her for dead in the jungle. He has had a lot of time to think too.

*Manolo is the common nickname for Manuel, the Manolos’ real names are Manuel Guillén and Manuel Ortega.

Powers:
Like all Verbati demons, Raúl can morph into any animal, human or demon form of about his size and mass. Raúl is an assassin, so he has improved his natural physical strength and trained in a variety of martial arts, being particularly good in all forms of Brazilian Capoeira – but most especially in Malandragem or ‘dirty tricks’. He doesn’t like weapons, especially fire weapons, he prefers to morph into the kind of demon that fits the situation. That doesn’t mean he can’t or won’t use them, though.

Raúl was born without the psychic abilities of his kind.

Dr. Bloodmoney

TwistedStranger's picture

Dr. Bloodmoney
Because he's kinda tongue-in-cheek, I might have had a bit too much fun with this.

left
Race: Human?

Sex: Male

Nickname: Dr. Bloodmoney

Real Name: Dr. Clements V. Heffleflekker

Birth Date and Location: 18th July, 1962 - El Paso, Texas

Group Affiliation: The Black Hats

(Dr. Bloodmoney is played by Terry Gilliam)

Description:
Appearance ~
Dr. Bloodmoney is a rather odd and improbable figure. His overall appearance is that of someone who has been in the grave for the past twenty years because he liked it, with pale, waxy skin and veins standing out all through it. His face is always contorted into a sort of grotesque, condescending smirk, with veins standing out all over his neck. Many a time he has been beaten up for looking at someone the wrong way and it shows in the way he walks and carries himself - his body a mass of odd, misshapen angles moving with surprising celerity and agility despite the undeniable fact that he walks and runs in a constant zigzag motion, sometimes even three feet from his intended next step. His voice is rough and has a heavy Texan accent, like the ones most stereotypically found being used by cowboys in movies.

Personality ~
Having spent a good deal of his life working with the walking dead and doing twisted necrotic experiments on humans, the doctor isn't exactly the best company. He will sometimes go off in the middle of a sentence on some grand tirade or other, or will simply ramble on saying whatever comes into his head the moment it pops into being. The only thing he is single-minded and lucid about is his hatred and constant ‘search-and-destroy’ mission regarding Adam "Martin Strong" Young, his "one failure" (there have been others, but he vehemently denies that they count.) He hates humankind and works fervently to convert them

Background:
Dr. Heffleflekker began his work with cadavers during medical school, where a winning round of the Re-Animator drinking game temporarily convinced him that he had the ability to raise and/or reanimate dead bodies. This was further perpetuated when he actually DID reanimate dead bodies using a pharmaceutical compound that was supposed to cure psychosis as well as cause cancer in lab monkeys.

He embarked on a mad spree of killing and resurrection all throughout the area surrounding El Paso Community College, gaining an army of zombies that rivalled the final scene of Night of the Living Dead. Naturally, he couldn’t stay in the states with a massive army of the walking dead at his command, so he escaped to an island in the South Pacific where he could continue his work while people thought it was the Tonton Macoute. Here, he made his way through boatloads of tourists, each experiment stranger and more disgusting than the last.

His luck changed the day he got a young man from New Jersey who was looking for some R ‘n’ R and ended up being the focus of a “scientific study” to see if a living being could be recreated as a zombie - specifically, a zombie capable of leading the legions of the newly christened Dr. Bloodmoney. Adam somehow managed to destroy the lab in his maddened state (a side effect of the serum being used on live targets) and escaped with Dr. Bloodmoney in hot pursuit.

The good doctor, now looking much worse for wear since the beginning of his “grand crusade” (his face was now dominated by a rigor-mortis smile as he was turning into a walking corpse himself), caught up with his experimental mistake in Romania. However, he managed only to wipe the young man of almost all his memories (the only things remaining were “Dr.”, “Bloodmoney”, ”Zombie”, ”Priest”, and how he was supposed to eat and control things).

Since then, he has since hidden out in Liverpool, using the seamier element of the area in his work. Recently, he has heard news of a young man named “Adam Young” who resurfaced in Los Angeles, and has run his black freighter aground on the coast (Blonde secretary and vicious zombie-human thug in tow) to begin his bid for the bodies of Los Angeles. He has joined the Black Hats because they are a means to his particular end, and they need a necrotic practitioner.

Vespajan

Kent's picture

Name: Vespajan

Race: Sea Demon (of the "Sea Peoples")

Gender: Male

Birth Date/Place: sometime early in the Roman Empire, in Asia Minor

Group Affiliation: Black Hats, formerly of the Pathfinders (a sect of the Order of Valor)

Position: Pathfinder (tracker)

Vespajan is voiced by Vin Diesel

Description: The being known as Vespajan (Ves-PAY-jun) is a strange sight to behold. He is a tall and lean-muscled demon with blue skin and radiant emerald green eyes. Except for the demon's eyes, his face is almost entirely obscured by an elaborate veil of purple cloth with gold trim. Below his bare torso he is swathed in a flowing gown of the same material as his veil, partially secured by a golden sash. From each shoulder sprouts a pair of odd blue flagella or fins, which serve as weak environmental sensors. If all of this is not exotic enough, Vespajan's voice is rich with an imposing and mysterious timbre. Sometimes, only chanting a spell or prayer, it sounds as if he is speaking underwater. When Vespajan hovers it appears as if he is moving quickly through liquid.

Background: Vespajan's heritage reaches back to the earliest empires, pre-dating the Romans, the Egyptians, and even the Phoenicians. For a period of time, a strange culture known only as "the Sea Peoples" ravaged the Mediterranean and Asia Minor. This culture was in reality a race of conquest-minded aquatic demons. Appearing from nowhere and seemingly rising from the sea, these nomads struck terror into the hearts of the ancient nations--until they disappeared. Without notice or fanfare, the dreaded Sea Peoples sank back into the depths, never to be heard from again for the most part. Legend says that the Sea Demons were answering the call of their demon-god, a great Old One who slept under the ocean and occasionally suffered from fits of madness. This has never been proven, though the idea continues to plague demonologists to this day.

A few Sea Demons did not retreat to the deep waters, instead opting to hide among the region's deep lakes. Vespajan's father was one of these demons. Vespajan grew up in one of these lake communities, but took to the open seas at a young age. He wandered the world freely (even deep inland, thanks to the Veil of Alexandria) and had many interesting encounters.

At some unknown point in time Vespajan encountered the Order of Valor, a vast organization dedicated to the betterment of species through strife. Vespajan's abilities, experience, and cultural legacy of conquest intrigued the order, which always comes to potential members with the promise of giving purpose to one's life. Vespajan gladly signed on with the Order and became one of its Pathfinders. The Pathfinders are a collection of demons skilled in tracking and investigation, one of the independent demon groups managed by the Order of Valor. Individually or in small teams, the Pathfinders roam the world for useful relics and rarities, as well as knowledge (the Order's semi-official currency). During a mission or upon its completion, Pathfinders file specialized reports to each of the Order's leaders, or Ministers, collectively known as the Five. Vespajan's last solo mision was to monitor Wolfram & Hart, a rival demonic power that the Order's leaders have recently become very threatened by.

Vespajan finally tracked agents of Wolfram & Hart to the place formely known as Sunnydale, CA. Suspicious as to what exactly they were doing there, Vespajan did not get a chance to find out. Valor spies were discovered and "dealt with" out all throughout Wolfram & Hart, and Vespajan assumed that he was next. Soon he was approached by a mysterious figure who convinced him that his job with Valor wasn't worth the danger, and he joined a new group of sinister powers.

Items: The strange violet scarf that wraps Vespajan's head is one of the mystical Veils of Alexandria. The veils are named for their site of creation, a place the Sea Peoples plundered at the end of Egypt's Third Kingdom Period. This particlar shroud, retrieved from the ruins of a Temple of Isis, was passed down to Vespajan from his father. It was enchanted by a circle of Egyptian priests so that none but the most powerful magical forces, including demonic powers, may penetrate it. Not only does this increase the wearer's mystical resistance, but it also has unique side effects on select demonic races. When draped around the head of a Sea Demon, the super-sensory organs are mostly suppressed. This prevents sensory overload when out of water and allows Vespajan to focus on tracking one particular target at a time with minimal distraction.

Powers: Vespajan is able to hover "swim" small distances, but not very high from the ground. Vespajan's primary ability of note is his extraordinary awareness. Sea demons often hid in the darkest ocean depths, therefore their senses needed to be especially acute. Other than physical senses, Vespajan is able to sense mystical presence, such as good or evil. Vespajan uses his senses to locate artifacts or locales that the Order deems beneficial to their goals. Aside from his super-senses, Vespajan is also well versed in the non-supernatural tracking techniques of mortals and some combat forms. He prefers not to fight, but does so in times of crisis, such as to steal or protect an artifact.

Without further ado, another Black Hat:

Name: Connieach

Gender: Male

Birth Date & Location: 1508, Northen France

Character Description: Connieach was once a tall, darkly handsome young man. He had long black hair and dark eyes to match. His body was lean and well-built - or, at least, he thinks it was. Now, Connieach cannot remember. He is a blackened, charred skeleton hiding inside a black cloak. The hood pretty much covers his entire face - or whats left of it - and only occasional glimpses of his skull or skeletal fingers protuding from the sleeves can be seen. Connieach's voice has wasted away with his body and now he has a rasping, whispery voice.

History: Born the son of a dark witch and a weak warlock in 16th century France, Connieach was destined to become a great magic practionner. His father, however, took his own life soon after his birth. He was gifted with great foresight, enought to see the future in another, but in his son could see only death. In madness he plunged from a cliff top one night and his broken body washed up on the beach some days later.

Connieach took the ceremonial short sword that hung at his side.

As word began to spread through the village that the witch had killed her husband, she took her son and fled. They moved across the country side and she began to school him in dark magics. They practiced by preying on the local villages and travellers. Connieach was a quick learner and had soon equaled his mother. But, not long before he turned 18, she was caught by Inquisitorial witch hunters and burnt at the stake.

The Inquisitor read from a 'confession' while, drugged and battered, his mother moaned as tongues of flame curled up around her. Connieach was held aside and forced to watch as she burnt. In a fit of rage, Connieach burst free from his keepers and turned them to stone with a word. The first man to turn on him was flayed alive. The next three burst into flames. Wherever he looked, death followed.

With a flick of his wrist, Connieach meant to bring the sword from the Inquisitor's cart, but in mid-flight it whirled to a new direction. COnnieach watched as it ran his mother through her heart. With her last dying breath, she looked over at her son and let out a screech that killed one or two villagers close to the flames. COnnieach was slammed backwards by the force and lay prone, his body writhing as an invisible force settled over it. He was still stunned when the Inquisitorial henchmen hauled him up and tied him to his stake. He could do nothing but scream and cry as the flames licked at his body, burning his flesh and blackening his bones. He was not even able to form a coherent curse to spit at his executioners. And so he burnt.

When daybreak came, the villagers and the Inquisitor's party awoke to discover Connieach's corpse was gone. As was the ceremonial sword.

When the flames had finally goneout, Connieach had awoken. His body still burnt, even though there was no fire to cause the pain. With a surge of effort he pulled his arms free of their restraints and stepped down from the stake. In the early, pre-dawn gloom, he should have been unable to see anything, he knew that. Yet he could make everything out as if it was as clear as a summer's day.

Including his own body. Or, rather, what was left of it.

His clothes had turned into ash that crumpled and fell off his body even as he moved. His body...He was a skeleton. A blackened, charred skeleton.

HIs father's sword caught his eye and COnnieach remembered what his mother had done. She had cast her spirit over his like a cloak - or a suit of armour that protected him from the flames. His spirit - but not his body. Connieach grabbed the sword from where it still quivered in the burnt corpse of his mother and ran.

He spent the day in the woods around the village trying everything he could think of to restore his body. Nothing worked. He could not even remove the char from his bones. It was as night was falling that Connieach spotted the Inquisitor's cart pulling away from the village. In frustration and anger, Connieach ran to intercept it on the road. He left none alive. After stripping the Inquisitor of his clothes, he pointed the ceremonial sword and whispered three words of power. A tongue of fire leapt from the sword and burnt the Inquisitor alive.

Connieach returned to the village. He slaughtered everyone there, too.

After that day, Connieach disappeared. He travelled the length and breatdh of the world, searching for a way to undo the 'curse' - and damn anyone who tried to get in his way. As the years and then the centuries slipped away he grew increasingly desperate. He began to crave the delights of flesh. Drinking, eating, touch...these were pleasures unknown to him. But it soon became clear he could not undo what had been done. So Connieach sought to end it.

It was a futile endevour. Nothing, it seemed, would harm him. It appeared he would be doomed to walk the world as a skeleton until the end of time.

As the 20th century came and went, Connieach had given up all hope. He now wandered the world as he appeared - an empty, soulless creature with nothing to live for but unable to die. The world of men passed him by without him noticing or caring.

Then, he was made an offer. A very good offer. An offer that would restore his body to its prime - as it once had been. He would live again, not exist forever in this purgatorial state. And all he had to do was go to Los Angeles in the New World and kill some people.

All things considered, it sounded really quite simple.

Items: Ceremonial short sword. This is the sword used by Connieach's father and he keeps it still to this day. It is used more as a tool in spellwork, but Connieach has kept the blade sharp.

Powers: Magic. He's pretty good at the dark stuff. His mother taught him well. However, after their 'deaths', he did not continue to develop his powers - being preoccupied with first his quest for relife and then death. Thus, although he is several centuries 'old', he is no more powerful than he was five hundred years ago.

Undead. Connieach is alive and then not so. He's dead and then not so. Like vampires this means he cannot be killed by conventional (and many unconventional) means. Particularily, he has a special resistance to fire.

Played by: A skeleton...in a big cloak :P
