Stumbled across this site only the other day, so it might be old hat for you, but I thought it so useful it was worth mentioning.
Basically, you use this site to e-mail large files to somebody. You enter their e-mail address and upload the file you want to send to the YouSendIt server. They then send an e-mail linking the file to download from them.
Its pretty simple, free, you dont need an account and can send up to 1 GB
