charname: Alex Martin/Changer
race: Super-human
gender: Female
group: Vega City Liberation Group
position: HERO
descript: Height: 5'5"
Weight: 135 lbs

Demeanor: Alex will naturally move towards the center of attention in any group. She looks fairly unimposing at first glance, but once she starts talking, people will pay attention to her until she finishes. She is sarcastic and pessimistic by nature, but will tone this down so that not everyone hates her.

Attitude: Alex is very sardonic and cynical, and has a bizarre sense of humor. She tends to be respectful when in her assumed identity, always deferring to authority and never giving any indication of acting out or antisocial behavior. Once she becomes Changer, however, she has no respect for anything save herself and a mild concern for the other heroes she associates herself with.

Lifestyle: Alex lives in relative luxury, keeping a very neat apartment in a fairly expensive neighborhood in downtown Vega City. She is the former head of the R&D and defensive systems development with a company called Protodyne, but quit her job of late, preferring to live off the several patents she has a copyright on and use her massive amount of free time for other, more interesting pursuits, like developing devices for herself and crimefighting. Currently, she occasionally works as a professor at the university in the city.

Costume: Black armorgel-infused bodysuit, black cowl covering the top half of her head and hiding her eyes, making them look blank.

Special Effects: Eyes glow black when she uses her powers, voice modulator built into suit lowers her voice an octave when she wears it.

history:
Alexis Martin worked in Protodyne's Defensive Systems department as the head of Research and Development, developing such things as body armor that would withstand most types of modern weaponry, as well as hand to hand combat. Unfortunately, she was forced to work on weapons of mass destruction instead of the relatively nonlethal devices she had created and patented. She conceded to their desires, and created weapons used overseas to kill sometimes thousands of people at a time. Worried and conscious of what she was doing, she sought out religion, finally settling on the teachings of an ancient prophet named Gan, the self-proclaimed "slacker-god".

One night, as she was sleeping, Gan came to her in the form of a seventeen year old boy, backed by the music of Mindless Self Indulgence. When he woke her up, he told her he was bored, and wanted to have some lasting impact on somebody. To this end, he said, he was going to bestow a gift on her, sort of his version of an early Christmas gift. He touched her forehead, and told her what she could do. As a final parting word, he told her to get a new job, because quite frankly, her old one sucked. Gan said she was killing people for a living, and he'd appreciate that if she did it, it was on a much more personal level than her current involvement. Then, he hit her upside the head with his hand, causing her to lose consciousness.

When she woke up the next morning, Alex called her work and gave her two weeks' notice. After that, she came in only at the end of the two weeks to collect her last paycheck. Immediately afterwards, she destroyed all her files and took the prototype of her body armor, and went home. The first thing she did was test the capabilities of the powers Gan gave her, and then set about modifying her equipment, fashioning a fairly inexpensive mask from some cloth and an experimental lens design that obscured her eyes. She also used a voice modulator so no one could figure out who she was, and found a way to make it ultralight, so that it would fit in her costume. As she looked over her new choice of career, she reminded herelf that it was Gan's will. To this day, she remains feared amongst those who would commit crimes in the city.

enemy:
Villain Name: Force

Powers: Ability to channel bioenergy into powerful blasts, capable of killing normal humans
Why is this person your enemy?: Force was another researcher on a project Alex worked on. He managed to get his hands on a prototype system allowing bioenergy to be channeled into a blast, not unlike a laser. The blast could be refined to any possible intensity and thickness the user wished, simply by adjusting it to the correct setting. Force decided it would best be used by attaching it to Alex's device for operating machinery through brainwaves. He then decided to have the device implanted in his head. After the surgery, he was driven insane by the amount of brain activity going on. Immediately, he tried unsuccessfully to rob a major bank in Vega City, but was foiled when Alex showed up as Changer and promptly trounced him within an inch of his life. He has vowed revenge for her constant hindrance to him ever since that day. He also blames Alex for his insanity, because she created the device that he wanted implanted in his head.
