Hey, as you may or may not know, they are filming the new "Superman Returns" movie. Anddddddd since you have all labelled me with a "Superman obsession" I figured I would show you all a pic I found of the new superman (complete with revamped costume). Think of this as a fashion review. I think the retro-esque colours are awsome, and he looks great for the part (although a tad young, but I aint complaining...) Hmmm I think I have an NPC idea coming up, and I know just the actor ill take...(kidding)

I like the actor (check out that bod!), but I don't like the suit. The colors are too muted--it worked in X-Men (where they traded in colors for black) and Daredevil, but I don't think it does with Superman. As artist Jim Lee put it, Supes is elemental, a force of nature--the gold/blue/red is sun, sky, and blood or fire. If there's one movie-superhero who should be allowed the bright colors, it's Superman IMO.
And I don't like the boots. My brother called 'em "freaking cowboy boots". Direct quote.
Other than that, though, I have a lot of faith in the movie. I don't care for Supe's suit, and I'm disappointed in how Lois looks (even with dark hair), but...er...Luthor should be good. And Frank Langella as Perry White (not Hugh Laurie anymore, sadly).

Oh my gosh! This is great casting. Now we'll have to see how he can act. Christopher Reeve will be a tough act to follow. Even if backed by John William's thematic brilliance, who else can say, "I fight for truth, justice, and peace in the American way" more convincingly than Reeve? It takes a great actor to deliver that cheesey dialogue convincingly.

I think the gist of it was that there had been rumours that this particular movie version of Superman was going to be somewhat gay - but apparently they were just *gasp, who'd 'a' thunk it?* false stories.
