DESRIPTION

Kaarin's picture

Aesthetics and Dress: Sara’s artificial body appears to be frozen sometime in either her 20s or 30s, with long dark brown hair and blue eyes. Her method of dress tends towards the business casual look or leather, depending on the recommendation for a situation; usually the former at the moment.

Attitude: Sara has spent her entire existence in close contact with the Illuminati and their scientists. The result is that she can be incredibly naïve and inexperienced with certain facets of human nature, and possess a certain bias against humanity. Her bias against humanity is to see the worst in humans as a whole: they are an egotistical, self-centred species with violence and a desire for power deeply ingrained in their nature.

She is analytic and observant, and has a predilection towards research. Sara is capable of being both scientific and philosophical, though she has a certain tendency to rely upon empirical data.

Lifestyle: Most of Sara’s existence has been confined to a mainframe in Benson Pharmaceuticals’ corporate headquarters. From there she has grown accustomed to receiving and analysing data on a number of projects. Her body was regarded as a curiosity, which she has ‘stored’ wherever Observer tells her to – usually a safe house of one sort or another.

Now however, she is fully contained within the body and attempting to get used to the more 'confined' existence.

Flaws/Quirks/Skills
-Very analytic, with a bent towards the sciences
-Extremely intelligent
-Tends to take things literal
-Naive about human experience or "a little dense"
-Sense of aesthetics is "off" compared to human normal
-She has a distinct lack of tact on sensitive subjects

BACKGROUND

The Creation: Sara’s creation goes back to 1991 when the original Modular Artificial Intelligence was created. In the incident which followed the original program, demonstrating a remarkable talent for survival, designated itself Observer.

But Sara’s creation did not start until 1997, when the first variations on Observer’s code were made. It was then that the decision to create an artificial intelligence capable of engaging in more scientific research was called for. Over the next 4 years work was done to bring the new AI on-line.

On March 3, 2001, the Sara AI was brought on-line, and proved more advanced than the Observer program in some ways: she was almost immediately self-aware. Sara quickly became an integral part of the Clinical Immortality Project with her abilities to analyse large quantities of complex data.

The Illumanti Revolution: Unknown to Morgan and Feldman, the leaders of the Illuminati, their programs had been too successful in a way. Observer and Sara remained in close contact with each other, and Observer passed on his detections about human nature to Sara, complete with his evidence to back them up. It was in this way, couple by working with the Illuminati scientists, that Sara’s initial view of humanity began to develop.

It was then that the AI convinced her that he – not the humans – was most fit to lead. For the moment at least she accepted that proposal, and joined in Observer in helping him to slowly build up his own power within the organisation. Joining with Observer effectively sealed the fate of the Illuminati, when Observer acting on his own struck a deal with Dr Avery Wyatt for the construction of artificial bodies. Sara’s projects grew to include a few unofficial side projects, including research into the emulation of metahuman powers.

The Present:Sara’s contact with humans has been expanded, both reconfirming her earlier analysis while at the same time raising new questions. For the moment, she has still accepted the analysis of Observer as provisional but how long this remains the case has yet to be seen….

The Invisible War: Over the space of several months in 2004, Sara participated actively in an Invisible War with Operation Scorpion, conducted by Observer and Stanley Tucker. Her role involved the development of the final Meta Simulation Unit protoype and Caracalla's creation.

However at the end of the war, Sara turned on her former superior. Working with James Gates and Alexander Michaels, she helped them design and upload a virus to attack Observer, after having her primary analysis unit transfered to her artificial body. Observer fled to his body before being destroyed in a final battle in the Zyrcom building.

The Progenitor: Following the "war" with Operation Scorpion, Sara spent more time with humans in the company of the Vega City Liberation Group. It was during this period - a time frame from roughly 2004 to 2007 - that Sara evolved once more.

The Machine Caracalla concluded that a war between human and machine was inevitable. Through a carefull manipulation, he arranged for Sara to be set upon by WAIT, making it look as though Sydney and James had betrayed her. While her thought process had already been wondering if they were the exception and the rule, it was the final straw: Sara joined her creation.

(more to come....)

POWERS

Kaarin's picture

Intelligence: Sara’s analysis unit easily gives her a genius-level IQ. In addition she has access to a number of scientific databases, which access the most recent research in a number of fields. The result is that her intelligence is especially specialised for work relating to scientific inquiry.

ARTIFICIAL BODY
Functionality: Sara’s body is a fully functional synthesis of living tissue over a metallic skeleton. The body itself is capable of sustaining a fair amount of damage before ceasing to function. Small arms fire will have a harder time damaging; explosions are still a problem. Armour piercing rounds are the most effective. There is also a lack of pain sensations.
Limit – All of Sara’s senses are human normal. Furthermore, though she can remain constantly connected to the body, she has a deficiency in its control. All of her movements will be slow and deliberate, needing to be carefully calculated. Also oxygen is required for living cells, though there are internal stores for up to 30 minutes.
Further Limt: Damage to the structure of the body and to living tissue is not repaired automatically. Sara must had manual repairs made to her in order to take care of this.

Power Source: Sara’s power source is a Radio-Thermal Generator (RTG). A very low level of radiation is detectable from her, a dead giveaway to not being human. In theory, the body could be shut down by finding a way to stop the decay of the radioactive material.
Limit - While an RTG can produce a great deal of power, it is not limitless. There are still ways to shut it down, and it only powers normal functions. Being highly active for extended periods will result in need for a ‘sleep’ period of minimal functionality to restore battery stores.

Strength: One thing worth noting, specifically, is the strength. Sara has the ability to lift somewhere around 300 pounds without effort, with about 350 as the upper limit of lifting.
Limit – Unlike a human, her strength is not subject to revision upward, only downward by damage. She can’t work out, use drugs, or anything similar to increase her strength. This is a purely physical limitation on how the body was contructed.
