Well, I was talking to Adam about Kristen’s latest post (which was great, Kris, btw)
The post showed a more virulent virus than we had thought of, so we got to discuss our views of how the virus would work. How it would affect the characters, will humans be affected in the same way than that demon was? so quickly? so violently?
Oh, and will the virus have a name? :D
Well to summon it up, a number of questions arose and we thought that it would be wise to create a thread to discuss these kind of things.
With any luck we’ll get to have only one virus that we are all happy with, and not several versions of the same virus, as I’m sure there will be if we aren’t more specific.
So... let's get the ball rolling, as Heather said.

Actually you as as sick as the plot demands. Since this is fiction and nobody has a 24-hour bug for exactly 24 hours and everyone knows it...you have the virus until you get 1) killed or 2) cured.
Or I suppose it is possible for it to run its course and leave the victim feeling a little draine but otherwise not evil. It is all up to the player. Again this is a plot-driven illness and it does what you want it to do...the explainations of methods and cure are for the writers so that they are all using the same double-speak for getting the PCs out of theis mess.
