when did you all start watching buffy i myself am oldschool i saw the film before i saw the seris and the film is the reason i saw the series i meen noting could suck worse than the flim could it

I saw the film first (of course,) and the show well it was kinda fate. I was flipping channels and landed on episode 1 of Buffy, and I was watching ever since. What are the odds.

Y'know, I was gonna start a topic like this sooner or later...
I was round a friends house once, and he said he watched Buffy and it was good. So I went home and promptly forgot about it.
Until the next week when, flicking around the channels, I paused on Sky One to catch the last twenty minutes of What's My Line Part Two. Matt watched Buffy, and it was good. From that point on, I watched every episode.
Evantually, Sky One repeated the season and a half I had missed. Nevertheless, it took a good year till I watched What's My Line Part One and the first half of part 2.
And that's how it all began, with just twenty minutes. Ah, the good old days when I didn't know there was only supposed to be one Slayer at a time, and they were only female...
'Course i'm far more educated now.

I'm something of a Buffy veteran, like the rest of ya, I saw the film first, then years later watched the first episode of Buffy 'Welcome to the Hellmouth' and was hooked. I have to admit, my loyalty wavered in mid-season two ish, I taped ALOT of episodes like about 10 and then one night watched them all back to back and was hooked again like an addict - I haven't looked back ever since.

mey season 7 of buffy and season 4 of angel i ttoaley missed i saw like 5 epps in total then my work hit me with the mother of all overtime and i missed it form then on being that no mofo in my house sees the little red dot recoring and decieds lets watch mtv crips!

ya, i saw the film as well...i found is sooooo funny that pee wee herman was playing in it...but it was so campy i didnt think anything serious of it...THEN...one lonely night in high school, i actually stumbled upon "welcome to the hellmouth" and instantly fell in love with it :wink:

I also saw the movie first, but I liked it. Well, my likings are something my friends and family usually wonder about.
Later I knew that they were playing the series but I didnt get to see it because I didnt have cable tv at that time. So I got to see it from season three on. I saw season 1 and 2 on reruns later on.
Anyway, at home Tuesday nights are sacred, the girls are mute, the husband makes dinner and I... watch Buffy!! (yes I'm still watching it, it hasnt finished here yet) Dont know what I'll do when it does, I suppose: Dinner!

I saw the movie first too...it was on some channel i switched to and there i saw the movie...mid way through, not knowing its name, at that time i was really interested in any supernatural type movie...just like now...
anywayz...later i found out its name and paid no attention to it....later i saw the my first ever episode...i don't remember which one it was though...because i didn't much find the movie interesting i decided to skip the series. It was much later, i think about three or two years from now, that i saw the second episode of Angel that i felt really hooked to the show, i just loved every minute of it....
at that time i had no clue about the entire buffy and angel story so after ceremoniuosly watching Angel every week, i got curious and started watching any and every buffy episode that would come, i would also read manuscripts and transcripts....
yes folks, that is how i got hooked to buffy...
