That's right, today is the big day. Those of you living in the UK will know what I'm talking about.
For those of you that don't, tonight is the UK showing of the LAST EVER episode of Buffy; 8pm, sky one, followed by a special documentary on the show.
Only four hours to go and I'm giddy with excitement. I have (so far) resisted all temptation to go looking for spoilers so I have absaloutely no idea what's coming.
I trust I wont be dissapointed?

Oh my MANA! LAST EVER BUFFEH ON 2NITE!!!! I'm sooo excited. Altho peed off coz stoopid peeps wrecked the last epp for me. *idiot children*. O well, the tension is mounting. And i still have revision to do before i can watch TV! DAMMIT!

I knoooooooooow! Shame! I think the ending was good. It didn't leave you feeling miffed, but it didn't leave you wanting more. I was a bit peed off the the principle made it and others didn't. No one ACTUALLY cared about him. Or i didn't, and that means that NOBODY did, ok? Although the last five seconds were a bit tacky. The sniffly horizon view was just a bit cliched. anyhoo, I thouhgt it was a good ending episode. Well done Joss!

No, really let's not have a Justin Timberlake character, even if he dies a horrible, ghastly, bloody, disfiguring death.
Because here's the thing...very few people ever stay dead in the Jossverse.
Look at the evidence:
Angel--Re-souled by Willow, killed and sent to Hell by Buffy. Buried alive in a box in the ocean by his son. Still around.
Buffy--Drowned at the hands of the Master; died jumping off of a construction site into a hell dimension portal. Still alive.
Connor--Killed by his father, then erased from his life as Connor Angel and shoved into a new version of reality. Nevertheless, still around (and signed as a recurring character for Season 5).
Darla--Killed and turned by the Master in the Virginia colony, staked by Angel in Sunnydale, resurrected by W & H, killed and turned a second time by Dru, killed herself in childbirth.
Holland Masters--Killed in his own wine cellar by vampires. Still dead, but has been seen around W & H, where he still works for the firm.
Joyce Summers--Died of a brain aneurysm. Was briefly re-animated post-mortem by Dawn Summers. Her spirit seems to have returned to give Dawn a warning.
Lilah--Killed, and beheaded posthumously by Wesley. Still dead, but is still employed by W & H and is apparently the W & H contact that Angel and his crew have with the Senior Partners.
Lorne--Beheaded in Pylea. Fortunately, this does not kill members of his clan unless the rest of the body is destroyed.
And of course, there are all the dead and formerly dead people that the First imitated.
Let's face it--death wouldn't stop Justin from returning. Much better if he never joins the Jossverse in the first place.

i am shocked and horrified
although it has been a long time since i saw the last episode. it has indeed stuck in my head. not for being perticularly good, in fact more for the dissapointment. it was a rubbish ending. with no buff/spike story line, except her false decleration of love. everyone except 2 important people surviving. if that had been the end of a series i could have understood, but the last one ever. joss u idiot. thats all i have to say to him. and the ending all the peeps standing on the crater, "so buffy, what's next?" and what does she do, throw herself into the crater calling spike's name? no. kneel in tears, horrified to have lost her one true love? no!!! instead she, i know i cldn't believe it either! she SMILES!!! how dare she. spike is gone, for ever!!!!!! her series is over, the last memory we have of her is her smiling!!!! no painful, but final death!!!! im sorry but i was expecting more. although obviously the graphics were as fantastic as ever, and xander proved her blatantly did not LOVE anya, cared about her yes, loved no. it just wasnt a great episode! spikes death was crap and pointless, all it did was save the world. he should have died saving buffy, or been killed by buffy, by accident, or killed himself cos she died!!! something, anything. but no!!!
sorry i apologise for going on and on, but i feel very strongly about this. i know that now they still can come back, or make a film or something, but for a last episode, it sucked. and what was with all the people falling down, apparently dead, then getting up again. buffy did it, many mini slayers did it. in fact at some point everyone must have done it. i still cant believe andrew survived. its wrong and terrible. instead of some silly mini slayers, andrew, or the principal, anya and spike die. one more thing what must it have been like 20 vs. 3,0000000000000000000 and the scoobies won with 2 deaths?!?!?!?! o dear, joss whedon is losing his last finger which is keeping him hanging from the great steel bar that is reality!

Ive got to disagree. See the big thing with Buffy is her struggle to be able to be normal and lead a normal life. Up until the final episode it was never a possibility, she was doomed to live the life of a slayer forever (and what a lonely life, knowing everything always depends on you). The ending finally gave Buffy what she had always wished for, a chance to live a normal life.
As for the death of Spike, well just because you loved someone, does not mean you have to be all melodramatic about it. He died a noble death, and throwing yourself in a crater because of it would just be stupid.

You don't have to be melodramatic, but something other than a blank stare backdropped by jokes lamenting the loss of the mall, followed by a smile would be nice.
I'm not getting started on the finale, and it's littany of failures to justice to the rest of the series.

what i meant by that, was that it had no romantic interest, i mean u wld think that after all this time of keeping us girlies ( and some guys) waiting they cld close spikes character with some mushy true love story to help us all get over his death, but no, he died knowing ( or thinking - depending on ur opinion) that buffy didnt love him, i mean sorry, but not what i personally was hoping for in his death. i was horrified and shocked that one of the main, and BEST characters died, but he did, and i could have got over that if, if he had died with, or for buffy so that they both knew how they truly loved each other. but buffy only gives us a hopeless false decleration of love. sorry i rant alot about the last ep. i was sooooooooo dissapointed!!!
