Hi everyone.
I've only just found LABN (well, by 'just' I mean a good few months), but I've been really impressed. The quality of the writing has really fired my imagination, and I sooooo desperately want to get involved. I've made my character application and it has been accepted (the demon-Templar dude who wiped his memory? You remeber, right? Sure you do). Unfortunately I didn't realise two of the names i had chosen, Fate and Matthias, were already in use. An unhappy naming incident I assure you. I'm currently thinking of another name and nickname and once I've done that I'll sign up. (Note: any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, I'm not very good when it comes to names. It took me weeks to come up with Matthias and Felix (aka Fate), only to find two of them already exist! Sods law, eh? Ah well, these things happen. Serves me right for not checking before hand).
I just wanted to take a minute to say I look forward to becoming a proper member and joining in on the fun. Keep up the good work!

Quick name suggestions instead of Matthias why not simply call him Matthew or even Marius.
As for Fate, well you could call him "Destiny" (although sounds alittle femme for a guys name) Well im out of ideas, to tired to think. Hopefully someone else will be more help than I was. :lol:

G'day Matt. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting 'Felix' aka {insert real name here} :) and unravelling the mystery of his past.
As for names, I generally go to baby name web sites. They generally have hundreds, if not thousands, of names listed, often with meanings attached. I find they're a very handy resource.
As for the nickname, some synonyms for Fate include
Destiny (as Shaun has already mentioned)
Chance
Doom (Not so sure about that one - depends on how you meant it)
Providence
Kismet
There's a bunch of others, but they get progressively less appropriate. Or, of course, you could go for something entirely different. But hopefully these suggestions will get you started.

There is also "Lucky" which can go either good or bad.
As for "Matthias" you might try Matthew as an alternative.
There should be no confusion with that name at all.

Yeah...was thinking about just plain 'Matthew', but wanted an 'older' name. Bare in mind the character was born in around the 1100's. Probably going to keep the nickname as 'Chance', though. I really do like that (thanks Heather!)

Since there was a first century Apostle named Matthew and the name shows up in the old testament that would be the "older" name.
Matthias is actually more recent and is Germanic in origin.

Glad you liked my suggestions, Matt. Actually, I really liked 'Chance' too, but refrained from making a comment about it at the time so as not to unduly influence any decision. But it has a good ring to it. :)
And yeah, Matthew should work fine if you like the name - so long as you don't mind having a pc with the same name as yourself. :wink:

On the first one - there actually should be no "s" in the URL, so it should just be http://www.latenightgames.com/forum/
For your user name.... well, you can really enter whatever you want, though I think our convention is PC name at this point. Probably best to go with whatever you're willing to try typing.
