hey hey hey...it seems that everyone has a fanclub for buffy and her scoobies, including that godawful andrew, and no-one appreciates the angel gang, let alone angelus (or angel, both)...im relatively new here and see that there are way more buffy fans than angel fans (are there any????? :oops: )...
so...i wanna hear from all u fans who left buffy after angel left and returned only for his guest spots (hey, and buffy fans...i still like her, i do)
i cant think of any topic to start right now (bloody trade relations is still in my head...my exam is in 3 hours :? ...if i fail, its on joss's head :twisted: )...so if anyone would like to give it a shot...

I'm game. The consensus in my house is that all in all Angel is a better show than Buffy. And what I have to say is, although I am forever loyal to the show that first caught my eye and won my heart, Angel is damn good. It is well written and the characters are always evolving. I have never missed an episode of Angel, but last season, there were times it was damn hard to get through some of the Buffy episodes. I am glad that Buffy is ending now, when the show has regained it's focus, so it can go out on a high note. And I am really glad that I still have Angel and his gang of do gooders to turn to.
So, what do you all think?

I have to say im a HUGE Angel fan, but as much as I like the show, Buffy is still a bit better.
Buffy's characters are more developed and thus I am more attached. Of course Angel has not had the same amount of time, so perhaps in the future they will get up to par with Buffy. I also enjoy the humour in Buffy more, I find Angel needs to lighten up a bit (The Show not the character).
So in recap, Angel is great amazing and whatnot, But you have to remember where he came from, and stay loyal to the Buffster...
PS: The Scoobies could so kick ANgel investigations arse! (isnt that right Riccardo :twisted: )

Hehe I'm just going to be totally shallow and say BtVS has GILES AND SPIKE! Where as Angel only has Wesley and Angel hehe, then again if certain rumours are true and the yummy duo move over to Angel it could very well become my all time favourite show :D

Here is my take:
I am a huge Buffy AND Angel fan. I like them both but for totally different reasons.
BUFFY: Watchable on many levels you can examine the philosophical aspects. You can look at the social metaphors. You can have it be eye-candy or even a soap opera. Buffy works no matter how you watch it. It stands up to re-watching becasue you always find things you missed. And the dialog is to die for.
ANGEL: Nobody does a plot twist like the ME crew. Angel consistently takes a roller coaster ride through a series of twists and turns that would leave an average viewer in the dust. Angel is not as "cerebral" as Buffy but it is every bit as artful. It is hard to put characters through so many changes and have them still be the same people you have come to know.
Overall, I like re-watching Buffy more than Angel, but I like watching Angel new episodes better than Buffy ones.

One of the problems I have with this debate is that, well take season 6 of Buffy for example. At the begining of season 6 there was a lot of 'debate' over the fact that Buffy had strayed from the 'monster of the week' formula that had been used from the word go. Now Angel clearly doesn't follow the regular formula of vintage Buffy season and yet it has had no criticism (that I am aware of) for its style.
It should be interesting to see how season five of Angel is recieved since there have been rumours that Joss is planning to completely revise the show's structure.

i heard wolfram and hart is gonna be big on season 5 and that the angel gang is gonna be even more darker (as if now wasnt enough...how can wes, gunn, fred and angel be even more darker????)
one of the things i love about angel is that theyve had characters to remember...to this day, I STILL miss doyle, he was so f'awesome...and angel was ABLE TO REFORM faith, which Queen B wasnt able to

I mean 'm obviously not as updated at you 'mericans, but at the moment Cordy is in my book of unfavour. As is Fred, I mean what is up with her??? anyways, was anyone disappointed with the denouement in the 'big bad' storyline on angel...i thought there was such good build-up and yet, something left to be desired...maybe the season finale will make it up :o

hehe...woowee, angel actor + comic book character = one very excited individual :D ...guess that by DB making his way into film now means angel's gas tank is running out... now, if only this one can be better than the previous crows (brandon lee's crow excluded)

Ok, it wasn't that bad. Believe me, I know from bad horror/slasher films. I've seen tons of Full Moon pictures. There are worse, much worse, movies than Valentine. And DB was yummy.
