[SPOILERS] Grab a hankie, cause it's official...

I just read on MSN news that Buffy is officially over at the end of the season. SMG herself said this was the end in an interview. Joss says there may be a spin-off in the works with some of the characters which he will pitch to UPN first. Also in the article, SMG says that in the final 5 part story arc...

spoiler break

, Faith and (can it be true) Angel will both be returning to the show.

So, there we have it, guys. We knew it had to happen someday.

Perhaps I will try and express what I feel later.

Does that mean no BTVS? Are we like going to have a spinoff like FTVS? (Faith the vampire slayer?)

Below is an excerpt from the Buffy Cult page from BBC Online -

Quote:
Alyson Hannigan seems unsure that a rumoured Willow spin-off series is a good idea

"It really depends on Joss," she told the E!Online web site. "If he's involved, it would be really cool. It's so weird, because it's a great job, but I think it's also sort of time to see what else I can do."

Asked if a role on Angel might be preferable, she added: "Ooh, yes! [Alexis and I] could have a secret little tunnel from one trailer to the other. That would be so great."

With Eliza Dushku passing on the opportunity to star in a Faith spin-off series to replace Buffy, some TV insiders feel a Willow-centric show is the most likely route for Joss Whedon to take.

The Zentertainment media news and rumour web site claim that the UPN network, Buffy's US home, is apparently hoping for an autumn launch for such a show, which would also feature several other Buffy regulars.

Buffy to End

Quote:
After seven glorious years, Joss Whedon's hit vampire show will end in May.

It's official: Sarah Michelle Gellar will not continue as Buffy Summers beyond Season Seven, spelling the end of the show as we know it. The actress feels that she has played the Slayer long enough, and wants to quit whilst she is ahead.

Buffy boss Joss Whedon will write and direct the show's one-hour finale, Chosen, which will be screened in America on 20th May 2003.

"I'm just glad I can say we did our best on every single episode," Joss announced in a statement to the press. "We didn't always succeed, but we never slacked, and I'm immensely proud of my writers, actors and crew for that."

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer will go down in history as one of television's best shows and an enduring testament to the vision and genius of its creator Joss Whedon," said 20th Century Fox Television president Dana Walden.

"For seven years, Joss and his team... captured the cultural zeitgeist and effortlessly combined drama, action and humour," added Walden. "Without question, [Buffy] will live on for generations to come."

Geller - Why I Quit

Quote:
Sarah Michelle Gellar announced her departure from Buffy in a glossy cover story for popular American magazine Entertainment Weekly.

"Buffy, in this incarnation, is over," she told the mag. "I hope it is the right time. This is so weird. You always worry about being the show that's been on too long - especially when you're a cult hit.

"Last year, a lot of people were ready to tear us down. [So when] we started to have such a strong year this year, I thought, 'This is how I want to go out - on top, at our best.'

"I was 18 when I started the show; I'm 26. I'm married. I never see my husband. This has been the longest span of my life in one place. There've been times where that's been difficult - you want to pick up and go, try other things, live in different places. It feels right [to go now], and you have to listen to that."

Sarah does leave a glimmer of hope for fans who cannot bear the thought of a world without Buffy: "I know they are planning a spinoff, and I would love to come back [for some episodes] - assuming, of course, that they don't kill [Buffy]. The moment I say all this, I'm going to get the last script and go, 'Oh, my God!' Look, this is so scary.'"

Sarah admits that it's been a difficult decision. "I love this job, I love the fans. I love telling the stories we tell. This isn't about leaving for a career in movies or in theatre - it's more of a personal decision. I need a rest. Teachers get sabbaticals. Actors don't."

Angel's Future (spoiler)

Quote:
David Boreanaz has been talking about season four and how he'll feel when Angel bites the dust.

Speaking to the Entertainment Weekly web site, David talks about the history of the show and why he doesn't like to watch it.

"...if I were to go back and look at why he's [Angel] become what he is, I think maybe that would just mess me up more. I just stick to having an understanding of what the next episode is going to be and how I'm going to work on it, period."

David goes on to reveal that Angelus is back, "There's an episode coming up where I'll be playing Angel and Angelus side by side, and they battle each other. You ask any actor, and every one of them loves playing evil. Angel's just a big misfit, man. And Angelus is so extravagant and boisterous and sarcastic."

So what will the future hold for him if the rumours that this season may be the end for both Buffy and Angel turn out to be true? "If this is the end, I'd take it for what it was and what it is. I think that the finale to any show is really a testimony to the work you put out there from day one, and I'm very pleased with the work I've done. So if it has to be, then it has to be, and you just move on. I have no regrets, and nothing bad to say."

Where Do We Go From Here?

Quote:
With no more Buffy planned, what lies ahead for Joss Whedon's monster franchises?

Whedon revealed to Reuters on Thursday that UPN, Buffy's current network home, are keen for a spinoff - something he is willing to create. The main issue at the moment, however, seems to be the timetable for a new series.

"I think ideally the best thing to do would be to wait and not rush anything," said Joss, countering UPN's desire to launch something new as soon as this autumn. "There are paradigms that I've posited that could start next year ... [but] whatever came next, it would have to have at its centre an idea as worthy as [Buffy and spinoff Angel] were. And somebody who's pretty."

One pretty face that definitely won't be headlining a spinoff is Eliza Dushku. Alleged talks with the actress regarding a Faith show seem to have been scuppered by the announcement that Dushku will star in Heroine, a pilot for the Fox network in which she will play a girl with the ability to jump back a day in time to right wrongs in a Quantum Leap/Seven Days style.

Although UPN doesn't have any automatic rights to Buffy's follow-up, Whedon hopes that producers Fox will work with the network, as they came through for him at a time nobody would - when The WB failed to stump up enough cash to continue Buffy after its initial five year run.

"We're still in discussions [with Whedon], and they've ranged in many different places, many different directions," UPN Entertainment President Dawn Ostroff told the Zap2It.com web site. "But we're not prepared to announce anything yet."

Whilst media attention has focussed on Buffy in these past few days, it's important to note that The WB has yet to decide whether it will bring back Angel for a fifth season. Ratings have remained consistent since the show moved to Wednesday nights, but they are still lower that the show it replaced in that slot - Birds of Prey. Whedon, however, remains upbeat.

"I don't know where we stand ... but I'm putting my money on this not being the last season," he said. "I love this show, and I won't let myself think this is an end."

More stuff for you spoiler fans... Here's the latest news on what's going to happen as Season 7 draws to a close...

'Buffy' Stars to Join 'Angel' Cast ?

Quote:
Article dated: 6 April 2003

With only six original episodes of UPN's Buffy the Vampire Slayer remaining and no spinoff on the horizon, what's a fan to do ? Pray. And hope. And then pray some more, that The WB has the sense to renew the Buffy spinoff Angel for another season because, while the show as-is merits nothing less than your full attention each week, word has it that at least two Buffy regulars may be making the move to Angel when their series wraps.

E ! Online TV gossip columnist Kristin revealed last week that, while both cast and Buffy creator Joss Whedon report that a Buffy spinoff is a no-go for next fall (but hasn't been tabled for good), veteran cast members James Marsters (Spike) and Anthony Stewart Head (Giles) are in talks to reprise their roles on Angel if it gets picked up for next season.

As for the other cast members, who haven't ruled out returning for a spinoff in the future, all have other projects lined up: Nicholas Brendon (Xander) is developing his own sitcom, while Alyson Hannigan (Willow) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn) have turned their attention back to the big screen.

According to Kristin, WB execs are excited at the possibility of Marsters and Head joining the Angel cast, which just may give the series the advantage in the renewal game.

The first of the five final episodes of Buffy airs April 29th, and for now, only Whedon knows how it all will end. About the only thing we are certain of is that David Boreanaz's Angel somehow figures into things in a big way.

"I'm in the process of writing the script now," Whedon told Kristin. "The show is about life, and the final statement on life is death. On this show it's not even that. You want to pay homage to the fact that he's [Angel] a big part of her heart, no matter what, without saying anything definite on what will happen for them in the future."

Internet Spoils Fun As... Buffy Bites Dust

Quote:
Article dated: 22 April 2003

Without bothering to come up with alternative endings to keep fans guessing, "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" finished taping its final episode late last week. "I gave up about a year ago trying to keep anything off the Internet," Joss Whedon, the show's creator and executive producer said yesterday.

"Even if we had alternate endings, eventually you have to put together the one with the real ending and somebody sees it," he says.

"The one, real downside of [the Internet] is the destruction of the surprise. However a lot people don't go on it or deliberately avoid spoilers, so they're the people I'm talking to the most - the ones that want to see it pure. For the rest of them, I've given up the fight," he says.

The finale airs May 20.

Meanwhile, as the series has been building to a violent, all-or-nothing war between spirit forces at the end, some critics have pointed out that the characters on "Buffy" are going through much the same turmoil people in the real world have experienced with war with Iraq.

"The last thing I ever wanted in the world was for any of 'Buffy's' rhetoric to be compared to anything [President Bush] was saying," Whedon says.

"Yet he goes to war and ostensibly we have a war on 'Buffy,' " Whedon said.

"So I think it was very much a concern to the writers and myself that we try and stress the pain and the uncertainty and the emotion of it as opposed to the gung-ho 'let's-go-get-'em' of it.

"None of us advocates the idea of war and I certainly didn't support the decision to go in during this particular action [in Iraq]," he said.

Whedon said he pitched the series-ending storyline to his writing staff last summer but wouldn't have returned to "Buffy" even if it's star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, decided to stay on for another season. Whedon, also said the characters may live on after the series finale in a future movie or spin-off.

"We do not destroy the entire fabric of the universe at the end of the last episode and some people even live," Whedon said.

"So there's definitely an open door for more series or a movie, you name it."

I just saw the final Episode monday night...

I guess it finally hit me, Buffy is finished. Ive been a die hard fan since episode one (which by some fluke I found while switching channels 7 years ago). I guess I dont really have much to say besides its kinda sad that it is over :( (although Im glad it ended while it was still good).

But hey, I know its no replacement, but there is still Angel.

Finally watched "Chosen"... Don't think it's fully sunk in yet, the fact that the only show I've ever followed faithfully has decided to bow out after a 7 year run. The end. That's it. Door close. Curtains down. No more Buffy.

Like the rest of you, I knew this was coming months back. But now that it's finally here, everything seems a little surreal and hard to accept. Maybe I'll manage to be a little more coherent when it finally permeates this thick skull of mine and I'll quit this moronic babbling. Heheh!

Anyway... I found an interview Joss Whedon did with TV Guide Insider which is posted below. The article contains a lot of spoilers about the show's finale so if you've not watched it, this is where you turn back!

Buffy Postmortem
All about the last episode...

Quote:

Article dated: 23 May 2003
Written by: Michael Ausiello

As far as series finales go, Buffy the Vampire Slayer's was a doozy. We laughed, we cried, we hurled large objects at the TV in utter despair. But darnit if the show's creator, Joss Whedon, didn't leave us wanting more... closure, that is. For example, why of all the Scoobies did Anya have to die? And what's the deal with Spike, who bit the dust just days after making a date with Angel this fall? For answers to those questions and more, read on...

----------

TVGO: I have a bone to pick with you: When last we spoke, you claimed that "no decision" had been made about bringing Spike over to Angel next season. Then, days later, the WB announced that, well, Spike would be making his way to Angel next season. Why did you lie to me, man?
Whedon: It wasn't until the last minute that it was actually decided that he was going to be a regular on the show. When I spoke to you, a) it was true that we didn't know his status, and b) he was about to die on Buffy, so the less about him being on Angel in the press beforehand, the better.

TVGO: Fair enough. But couldn't the WB hold off on announcing it?
Whedon: There was no f---ing way. They were very excited about James. They have a shiny blond thing to show people, and they're gonna do it.

TVGO: So, how do you plan to resurrect Spike?
Whedon: That's a conversation I'm going to be having with the Angel writers very soon.

TVGO: There's always Shanshu (the ancient prophecy introduced during Angel's first season that says once a soulful vampire fulfills his destiny, he becomes human).
Whedon: It's not quite that simple, although a lot of people have been making reference to that. But that's an interpretation, and ultimately could become the interpretation if we decide to go that way. I have some other ideas. The trick is how to bring him back without losing the integrity of what he did... the sacrifice. If it's just, "Hey, I'm back!" then that whole moment at the end of Buffy is kind of lame now. Like Buffy returning from the dead, it's going to be something that we're going to have to earn and play the ramifications of, possibly without making it so depressing.

TVGO: Will you pair him with a new special someone?
Whedon: I'm still trying to figure out how to bring him back to life. I don't think he's the kind of guy that would be like, "Well, that was a fun time with Buffy... " I don't think he feels a sense of resolve or resolution about the relationship. I think he feels that he was ready to sacrifice himself for her, and it was a beautiful thing, but... it wasn't like he's cured of loving Buffy any more than Angel is.

TVGO: Now that Buffy is free to do whatever she likes, how will you explain why she doesn't make a beeline for Angel?
Whedon: Well, I think I did in the episode. She said very specifically she doesn't want to go and find a boyfriend. She wants to go and find herself — spend some time becoming a grown-up and finding out who she is, and then she can stop to find out who fits with that. That was the point of the whole cookie dough speech. Her internal search isn't for a boyfriend, it's for herself. And then if true love fits into that, that would be the best thing ever. But if she instantly went off and attached herself to Angel, she'd be throwing away everything she'd just been given, which is her freedom. It would be the last thing she would do. Well, not the last thing. She wouldn't do it until sweeps.

TVGO: November sweeps?
Whedon: I don't know if necessarily it will be November, but she has stated time and again that she's perfectly willing to come on and make an appearance, assuming schedules work out. Nothing's definite, but it's as sure a shot as one could hope for.

TVGO: Why was Anya marked for death?
Whedon: I wanted to kill somebody, and I wanted to do it brutally and suddenly and never really pay it off. I wanted a death that was a real middle-of-the-battle death — the opposite of the Spike death, which was perfect, noble. And Emma had made it clear that she really was not interested in coming back. I think things with Fox weren't great and she felt ill-used — not by the show. She had a good time making the show, I think. But she was ready to move on. But it was tough [killing her off]. The last shot before we wrapped her was that shot where she gets sliced. And it's very weird to play your death and go, "Okay, I'm done."

TVGO: No one seemed to be too broken up about it.
Whedon: I had a lot to wrap up, so I let Xander have a moment of closure about her, just enough to get him to the point where he could rejoin the group for a moment of, well, "We won." You have to get yourself to a good place if you want the show to go out on an uplifting moment, which I did. So I used shorthand.

TVGO: Had you known that Eliza Dushku was going to pass on the spinoff, would you have killed off Faith?.
Whedon: No, I doubt it. There's a certain element where the loss becomes unacceptable for a happy ending, and the idea that she's been the primary Slayer behind Buffy, it felt like she should be in that mix

TVGO: Given Eliza's decision, do you regret not making Dawn a Slayer?
Whedon: No, I don't think Dawn was meant to be a Slayer — both mythologically and emotionally. Dawn plays a different part than that. I don't think we necessarily got to explore all the aspects of Dawn's character that I would have liked to have, because she kind of got swept up in the larger story. But being a Slayer was never one of them. That's not to say you couldn't build a spinoff around Michelle — she's an interesting actress, and the same goes for a lot of the players. But I wouldn't just necessarily take someone and make them a Slayer. I don't think that would really fly.

TVGO: Today is the first day of life after Buffy. How are you holding up?
Whedon: I'm doing just fine, because it's like Day 13 of trying to get my 5-month-old to sleep, so I just go from one problem to the next. (Pauses) Your sense of closure never comes when you think it's going to. It'll happen two weeks from Monday. I'll suddenly go, "Good Lord. My entire life has changed."

----------

On Tuesday, Whedon answers the question on the minds of Angel fans everywhere. Has Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia) been fired?

[SPOILERS] Grab a hankie, cause it's official...

Heather's picture

I've finally seen the last Angel and Buffy, so at long last I could come into this thread and read it. Thank God Dave saw that very first post before I ever did, and placed a big spoiler alert on the whole thread. :) I'm one of the 'purists' that Joss likes. :D

Still trying to get over the fact that it's finished. No more Buffy.

I started watching it when the series first began, but dropped out partway through Season 1. Ignored it for nearly three years, then one day I caught the last ten minutes of an episode in Season Four. It was "Something Blue". It intrigued me... and I had no clue who some of these faces were - I'd never seen Spike before, or Riley. But I decided to watch the following week.

That week they played "Hush". Need I say more? I was hooked.

Then I got to see the whole thing out of order. I watched the rest of Season 4 (wondering who the hell Oz was when he came back), and then there was a Season 3 "Slayerfest" one weekend soon after Season 4 was done. Then they replayed Season 2 on a weekly basis, so I watched that. Then I borrowed a friend's videos of Season One (this was before the dvd's came out). Finally Season 5 started on telly, but I still didn't see the first half of Season 4 until most of the way through Season 5.

Confused? Well, so was I sometimes....

And now it's done.

And that last ep - man, what a high not to go out on! They managed to pack so much into it, I'm still reeling from the effects. Angel/Buffy, Spike/Buffy (man, did I cry??), the original gang, Anya (oh, God, Anya...), the Slayer ritual, goddess Willow (!!!), ... too much more to list. Hell, even D&D made a showing. :D And Giles got some of the best lines of the entire series in this ep. :)

Season 6 has held a place as my all-time favourite season for quite a while now, but Season 7 has really pushed it. That last ep may well have been the clincher for me. At least equal placings.

Ok, I'll stop drivelling now...

[SPOILERS] Grab a hankie, cause it's official...

Jadyn's picture

I just finished writing this little rant in another forum and I thought I'd post it here too... Here're some of my thoughts on the last season of Buffy. Not all are good, mind you, and there's a lot more where this came from. I was just too lazy to type out everything I wanted to say and seeing how long this already was, I figured I'd leave the rest till later. Heh heh...

----------------------------------------
Buffy - Season 7 Rants & Raves
----------------------------------------
Rodloub, you took the words right out of my mouth. Fantastic as Season 7 was in parts, I think Joss tried to pack too much into 22 episodes, an endeavour that resulted in a lack of depth for both the plot as well as the show's characters.

The Big Bad
For example... I was thrilled when it became evident that the BB this time was none other than the First. Might as well go out with a bang... And what could be more apocalyptic than the source of all evil, right?

Wrong!

Maybe it was because the First could not take on physical form, which (to me!) made it kind of useless. Ok, the "morphing into a any dead person it wants and playing vicious mind-games" thingie was cool and kinda freaky... But unless you can fight a war, beat your enemies to a bloody pulp and break each of their necks, where's the fun in being bad?

If the First really had to remain as an intangible force, then I think more focus should have been given to the preacher and the ubervamps. Caleb was brilliant! Pretty-boy good looks, crazed religious ramblings, dead confident calm, uncontrolled violence and bubbling rage... Add all those facets of his personna to the super strength given to him by the First and you've got an ace villian!

Unfortunately, Caleb only came on in the last 4 or 5 episodes. Prior to his arrival in Sunnydale, all Buffy really had to do was fight one ubervamp and a bunch of blind, robed men with knives. The rest of her time was taken up playing babysitter to the 20 or 30 girls hiding at her place, soothing fears and solving petty arguements. :?

The Newbies
As the show progressed, I found myself getting distracted from the main plot by the slew of comings and goings. Every episode flashed faces of girls I'd not seen before and after a while, I honestly couldn't distinguish the Potentials from one another, nor recall their names. With the exception of Kennedy, the rest of the girls didn't strike a cord, which probably explains why I wasn't bothered when several of them got killed during Buffy's vineyard raid on Caleb. They were not characters I'd gotten to know and feel for.

Compare it to the build-up we had in Season 6! We shared the gang's worry at Willow's gradual loss of discipline and control over her magic; mourned at the end even as her grief at Tara's death drove her over the edge... Or think back to Season 3, when we first met Faith. Past her tough exterior, the conflicting emotions she aroused in most of us, coming across as a girl led astray by her desperate need for acceptance and affection.

The introduction of each newcomer into the show, even the annoying ones like Glory, was done almost masterfully in almost every season except Season 7, where none of the newbies amounted to much. Hmmmm, wait, I take that back. There was one... Principal Robin Wood. Loved the way they tied in his history with Spike. Loved the twists and turns of "Lies My Parents Told Me", which had me goggling with awe. Loved the banter between him and Faith after they did the deed. And hey, in terms of eye candy, he's definitely got the advantage over Snyder!

The Scoobies
But back to my little rant about the season. In the midst of all of the confusion, not only do we not get to know the newbies (although since I found Kennedy's bossy, "know-it-all" attitude highly annoying, that might have been somewhat of a blessing!), we sort of lose sight of what's happening with the core, i.e. the Scoobies too. As Rodloub said...

Quote:
Xander losing an eye seemed minor, Willows move from getting over the death of Tara to being with Kennedy was bordering on the insane- who are we? Do we have 12 year olds attention spans - how on earth could we believe having seen all we'd seen in previous seasons that Willow could get over Tara so quickly? The only thing I did find sad was that Anya's death got about 10 seconds worth of mention by the characters.

I would have loved to see more action from Xander. Since he saved the world from Dark Willow in Season 6, I've noticed a maturity in him that wasn't present before. That pep talk he gave Dawn in "Potential"? Absolute genius... Simple, honest, and heartfelt... Unfortunately, other than losing his eye, having unplanned sex in the basement with Anya and trying to kidnap Dawn towards the end, Xander didn't do much else.

Willow's role was a little better but there was so much left untapped and unexplored. I loved the angst in "Conversations with Dead People", when she believed momentarily that Tara had somehow found a way to communicate with her from the other side. Also, loved Aly's performance in "Same Time, Same Place"... Wasn't that skin-peeling, flesh-eating demon the freakiest thing? But with that said and done, I think more time should have been devoted to showing Willow focusing on her own life - developing her magic further, getting over Tara's death, rebuilding lost trust among her friends - instead of her romping around with underaged Potentials.

My Conclusion
In a nutshell...
- Did I enjoy the last season of Buffy? Yes, every damn minute... Even the parts I b*tched about above.
- Do I think it can be improved upon? Yes. Parts of the show were astounding but yes, yes, YES!(Wanna bring Buffy back, do a Season 8 and floor me with your brilliance Joss? Heh heh...) 8)
- Would I recommend it to someone? Hell yeah... It's the last 22 hours of Buffy we've got. Even if it was dead lame (which it wasn't!), that little fact would merit any BtVS fan being glued to his or her television set, to find out how everything ends, if nothing else.

That's it. My little 2 cents worth. :vamp:

Sarah Michelle Gellar has revealed that there is still a romantic spark between Buffy and Angel - and that she may be visiting the vampire in L.A. in the next season of his spin-off show.

"There is unfinished business between Buffy and Angel and we were lucky enough that The WB was kind enough to let us have David [Boreanaz] for our last two episodes here," Sarah told the Access Hollywood web site. "That is certainly something that I would like to be able to do over there also.

"Joss [Whedon] actually asked me if I would consider doing an Angel next year and of course I had every intention of doing something for the spin-off. I initially thought that was something that I could do, and it still may be something I am going to do. But it's just not going to be next season."
Sarah also gave more of an insight into why she decided to hang up Mr Pointy after seven seasons.

"I'm leaving for personal reasons, I'm leaving for professional reasons and I'm a little exhausted. I have put my heart and soul into the show and I've always said that if I couldn't give 110 per cent in the show then I couldn't do it anymore. I was an 18-year-old kid when I started and now I'm a 26-year-old married woman and there are other things in my life that need a little bit of time.

"I'm [also] leaving because the story has come to a really good place and I never want to be that show where people say, 'Is that show still on?'"

Sarah is currently working on the second Scooby Doo feature film, and has recently been linked to a starring role in the proposed Wonder Woman movie.

I saw this post on AtPoBtVS and nearly pissed myself laughing at it. It theorizes why none of the scoobies ever has a relationship that doesn't end in death or banishment. However, it does mention some things that happen in season seven so if you haven't watched it yet and you don't want to know, TURN BACK NOW!

If not, read on...

Subject: Joss's M.O. or why the scoobies need to be rescued....

I know most of you know the pattern that Joss established with Jenny and Angel. But have you realized how FAR it carries? And how much the Scoobies must be suffering right now?

We all say "Joss loves his characters". But in "Bewitched, b, b," Giles says, "This isn't love! It's ugly banal obsession!" If Joss loved his characters, wouldn't he want them to be happy instead of grasping them in his meaty mitts for all eternity? Anyone who ever loved a scooby was 1. turned evil. 2. dispatched with.

Jenny Calandar -- Joss kept warning Jenny off. He tried to kill her in almost every episode. He turned her evil AND ugly. This worked for a while, but when she returned for some more Giles loving, Joss was like, "No! I made him! All his sexy tweed is mine!" and he rewrote history and made Jenny part of a gypsy vengence cult. When she tried to make out with Giles anyway, Joss gave up on her and snapped her neck. (secret revolutionary MOLOJ organizations sprung up around the country, and our power has been building...)

Angel -- You all know the story with Angel. Supposed to help Buffy, got involved, was o.k. as long as it was chaste, got sexy, got evil, stayed obsessed, got stabbed in the belly and his body dropped in a demon demension. When he insisted on coming back, Joss made him run around on all fours barking like a dog. But Buffy still liked him. So having tried the old stand by's of "evil" and "dead", Joss went with a romeo-like "banish-ed...banish-ed..." When Angel kept insisting on "crossing over" Joss picked up Buffy and moved her to a whole new network.

Hot science teacher (aka Natalie French) -- Wanted illicit sex with Xander. So Joss turned her into a bug. Made her evil. And chopped her into little pieces.

Malcom (aka Molock the Corruptor) -- Boy on internet who fell for Willow. Joss turned him into a robot. An evil robot. And smashed him into hundreds of pieces.

Inca Mummy Girl (aka Ampata) -- A sweet foreign exchange student who fell hard for Xander, so Joss tried to choke her with twinkies (bastard). That failing, he tried to pawn her off on Jonathon. When she insisted on Xander, Joss made her evil, like he had done with so many scooby lovers before her. She still tried to kiss Xander with her evil lips, and Joss got bored and turned her to dust and blew her off the canvas.

Cordelia Chase -- Coredelia really loved Xander. One day she fell through a faulty stair case (A faulty stair case!?!?) right on top of a biiiiig metal pole that happened to be right under the faulty staircase (!?!?!?). :( Cordelia took the hint, but in the Joss verse, true love is worse than even sex. So Cordelia got banished to Los Angeles where she turned evil, had to have sex with Conner (yuck) got impregnated with an alien baby, and got left for dead. Poor Cordy.

Faith -- Had sex with Xander. So Joss made her evil, stabbed her in the belly, and threw her off a building.

Scott Hope -- Obviously liked Buffy quite a bit... but suddenly lost interest. Joss tried a new trick and made him gay. He would use this again later.

Ford -- Old highschool friend shows up and there's definitely some chemistry with Buffy. Joss makes him evil and just for good measure gives him cancer.

Joyce Summers -- had sex with Giles.... a tumor starts to form in her brain.

Vampire Willow -- Grabbed good Willow's butt. Got dusted.

Oz -- Only a couple weeks after beginning to date Willow, Oz gets turned into a viscious werewolf. When he doesn't take the hint, Joss tries to buy the popular character off with an extremely sexy she-wolf. Looks like it may work, but Oz picks Willow. Being the smart boy that he is... Oz hits the hills. As far away as possible. Tibet in fact.

When he comes back and tries for Willow again, Joss makes Willow the inexplicable cause of Oz's wolfiness. Then he makes Willow gay. Oz knows when he's beat.

Anya -- Anya was already evil, so she knew what the next step was when she fell for Xander. When she couldn't get him to run away from Joss and be with her, she left the show. When she came back, it was only a matter of time. Xander, who truly loved her, tried to save her by leaving her at the alter. Maybe the humiliation would satiate Joss's jealous possesiveness? No. Anya got turned evil. And like Angel and Faith before her, she got stabbed in the belly. Xander and Anya tried to stay apart after that. But should they have had to? Was it right or just? Long ago, Xander, Willow, and Buffy sat outside Sunnydale High and realized, together, that as long as they were under Joss's control, none of them would ever have a love life. In the end, Xander and Anya could not resist; they had sex, and they called one another sweety just hours before the apocolypse. Joss, having tried everything else on Anya, just sliced her open and left her body unceremoniously on a pile of Sunnydale rubble, unmourned.

Riley Finn (aka Cornfed Iowa Boy) -- Riley was always an incredibly muted character. When Joss turned him evil to punish him for loving Buffy, the only thing evil-Riley could think of to do was go whoring. He was pretty much the same Riley... except now he whored.

Joss got frustrated and sent Riley an entire "threat package" that included long hair, a membership to the green part, and a rainbow sticker to put on his car. He was going to have to dress like "Cowboy guy" all the time and there was going to be a big make-out scene with him and Angel. Riley couldn't take it and got on the next helicopter out of town. Once out of town, he got married and joined the young republicans and tried to forget all about Sunnydale. I sent him a letter to try to get his response to my essay, and all he wrote back was "I'm straight, and I love my country. Leave me alone."

Tara Maclay -- Tara, like Oz, got the picture, and tried to back off. Tried to live on the periphery, getting occasional "sleep on the couch" priveledges for her good behavior. But eventually she and Willow had a night of passionate sex. Joss could hardly wait till morning. :(

Does anyone really believe the magic bullet theory? That Warren was trying to shoot Buffy, and a bullet bounced off a lawn chair, a garden gnome, and a bird bath, went through the window and hit Tara? Or isn't it more likely Joss was just getting tired of covering his tracks with elaborate plots and gypsy curses and just shot Tara himself.

Willow begged to have Tara returned to her, and Joss appeared in the sky, awesome and terrible and told her that Willow was his, and would ALWAYS be his and that was THAT (this was later redubbed). Willow had finally had enough and decided to bring the whole Joss-verse crashing down. At this point, could you blame her?

Spike (aka William the Bloody) -- Spike, like Angel, really loved Buffy. During season six, under Marti's watch, Spike and Buffy got away with a lot of kinky sex because kinky sex doesn't bother Marti. But Joss eventually found out (and only let Marti write one episode in the next season). Spike, like Anya, was already evil. So when Joss tried to turn Spike MORE evil by having bugs crawl up his nose, it back fired and Spike turned good. There were other pressing issues that Joss had to deal with at this point (to follow) so he just burnt Spike up and dusted him. I expect, that like Cordy, Joss will decide that this death was a little too easy on someone who truly loved his Buffy. I would not be surprised if Spike showed up in Los Angeles: evil, barking like a dog, and pregnant with an alien baby.

Us -- Finally, Joss realized that the one's who truly loved his scoobies....were us. We had fallen hard. Joss couldn't turn US evil. He couldn't stab us in our bellies, throw us off buildings, make us have sex with Conner, or bribe us with sexy werewolf girls (Note to Joss, if you're listening: You can bribe me with sexy were wolf girls). So finally... Joss picked up his four scoobies... and went home. He probably has them locked in his basement. Cold and alone, where he looks at his pretty baubles like some sort of golumn gone crazy on his power. Are we going to let this happen? Join MOLOJ now. Join the fight to bring love to the scoobies and to free them from their possesive jealous creator.
