email's good for me...

sherlynn - i think dave means the updates / news that he posts up on the la by night website every week...

anyway, i voted for email... reckon that's a better idea since we've got plenty going on within the game forum as it is.

also, i realise that a lot of players don't seem to check the email account they've given under their profiles. (understand that it's becos most of u only signed up for that account only so that u could use msn messanger...)

this gets a little annoying as there are times when other players send a proper mail around and the recepient has no idea about it. :( perhaps sending the minutes via email will spur the players to check their inboxes more often.

then again, this could backfire... everyone could continue to NOT check their emails, resulting in the minutes never being read. 8O

Rookie here.

Post Launch Season 2

I was looking at the "News" column on the front page which I usually repost here. And I've been doing this every Sunday for many weeksnow. So I will continue to do a sort of "Admin Minute" every Sunday. The board allows me to email to everyone so I am posting a poll about emailling the "Admin Minute" instead of reposting it.

Well Season Two of LA By Night is underway and things are progressing smoothly. I am still amazed at the degree of talent displayed here. In the process of setting up I have linked all the "Timeline" links to the season Two timeline (maintained by our dear friend Heather). I have creted character pages for all our new PCs (and I think I got them all). Nad the new NPCs are coming along nicely.

On the subject of NPCs I want to thank GoddessMaia for her NPC library. some of our players have drawn from that resource and it has been fun to have a pool of personalities to draw from when needed rather than re-using the same ones over and over.

The nature of this season's "big bad" means that many of our NPCs will be forced to retire from living so the more the merrier. Even of there is not intention of using a particular character in a major plotline, it might be fun to post a collection of "normal" and "not-so-normal" characters for the others to use as the menace in the basement of Poplar grows.

I find myself working more and more with the NPCs to keep them in the story. Not that I am complaining, but every once in a while (if the spirit moves you) post a story about someone getting replaced by a doppelganger.

It has been determined (through laborious calulation and analysis  ) that the Extradimension Entity can produce only one doppelganger a day until it gets to around 100 doppelgangers active. That means that from August to partially through December game time there will only be a single doppelganger searching for its target at a time.

And it is possible that in the story the target defeats its replacement. Which slows down the Evil Entity's plan. Detecting the EE will be tough, but it will happen, and when it does, it will mean all of us must come together to hunt down and remove any DGs still active.

Think back to Season 6 Buffy...the nerds...They knew there was a problem before they knew who it was. When they found out who it was...they couldn't stop them. By the time they stopped them...there were other problems bigger. In the end all they accomplished was a lukewarm defeat without even eliminating the villains.

Its going to be a lot like that for us too.
