ATTITUDE: Mikey is pretty much your typical 17 year old: Quiet with people he doesn’t know, outgoing with those he does. He’s generally well mannered, though on occasion has been known to give into teenage angst. Also, he suffers from classic teenage insecurity, despite the fact that he’s a borderline genius and not at all hard on the eyes. Mikey is also an avid comic collector, and a closet fanboy.

HISTORY:
Mikey grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada in a quiet suburb with his mom, dad and little sister. His life was what one would call normal, up until around the age of 7, when he began exhibiting strange behaviours. He would often fall into catatonic stupors, terrifying his parents till he inevitably awoke. Scarier still, Mikey would claim that during these sessions, he would become a “ghost” and travel where he wanted. At first his parents dismissed it as an active imagination, until he began accurately describing events and conversations he witnessed while in “ghost” form. Also, on the rare occasion, he said that he would experience visions, like seeing what his parents were cooking in the kitchen, when he was actually in his room.
Worried sick about their baby boy, the Kirk’s brought Mikey to every doctor in a 1000 km radius, hoping to find some answer that would explain his strange abilities. Naturally, no one could explain how or why Mikey was able to do or see what he did. Feeling like an outcast because of his powers, Mikey began to immerse himself in comic books. He identified with the heroes of the stories, and when reading them, felt like he was not alone with the burden of being different. To this day, his favourites remain X-Men and Young Avengers.
Desperate, to find answers, his parents turned from the path of science to that of the occult. They visited a variety of psychics and paranormal specialists until eventually a representative of Sindell contacted the family. Explaining how they could help Mikey control his extraordinary gifts, the coven was able to convince the Kirk’s to let their son study in England for 3 years at the Sindell Academy.
Though at first skeptical, Mikey enjoyed his time there. Not only did he meet other kids like himself, but he also felt like he was surrounded by dozens of superheroes on a daily basis.
Mikey spent about a year at Sindell, learning to control his powers before Zayn and her Black Hats attacked. Though few survived, Mikey and the other kids managed to escape thanks to older students, Cole, Lily and Daniel. The next day, he was on a flight back to Nova Scotia.
Having a better grasp of his abilities, Mikey managed to put the horrors of that night behind him, and resumed living a normal life.
8 years later, Mikey is now attending university on a full physics scholarship. Though he’s technically enrolled at St Francis Xavier, in Nova Scotia, he is studying his first session in LA as part of a semester long exchange program.

POWERS & ABILITIES:
Astral Projection. Mikey can ‘project’ from his physical body, leaving it in a catatonic state. While in this form, he is able to fly, pass through walls, and if concentrating, can become visible in the normal plane. On one occasion, Mikey’s astral body even managed to affect the physical plane – he moved a pen.
Far-Seeing: Similar to astral projection, Mikey can send his mind out and “see” in real time what is happening at distant locations. This ability does not require Mikey to leave his body, and is therefore the less dangerous of the two abilities.
