history: Before she got her powers: Before being intoxicated by the unknown chemical substance, Lavani was an average person. Very studious, fairly quiet, but always confident in her decisions. Her true passion had always been dance, ballet in particular. In her perfect world she would be a ballerina performing in Broadway plays such as The Nutcracker, and La Belle au Bois Dormant (The Sleeping Beauty). To this day she holds her childhood dream dear. However school and family have always come first. She has two best friends, Alice and James. Her somewhat shy personality was a lot more distinct before she became a super hero.

How she got her powers: There was a bitter, middle-aged woman who worked at Lavani's favorite restaurant, Midnight Stars. She was fed up with her low wages and supposedly bad working conditions. Blinded with rage, the woman decided to poor a mixture of intoxicated chemicals into the customers drinks that evening, as an attempt to "get even"....that night Lavani and her family were eating out at Midnight Stars. Lucky for Lavani's family the drinks they had only made them ill for less than 24 hours. Lavani however had to experience hallucinations, body changes, and a growth spurt of 3 1/2 inches...her transformations were complete by the end of the week. She never did tell her parents about all the changes, she just kept to herself, and stayed home for a week until she recovered from her "stomach flu"...Everyone did however notice her growth spurt, and thought that it was due to the many hours of sleep she had gotten that week.

After she got her powers: Well, to be honest, it took Lavani a while to figure out what she was going to do with these new changes. One day Lavani took a walk around the park. She noticed a squirrel at the base of a tree. Observing every aspect of the squirrel, she transformed herself into an imitation of the creature. Never in her life had she taken a different form. Later on she discovered her abilities to be in two places at once. She would make duplicates of herself by simply thinking about it, thinking very hard about it of course. She could be doing the laundry and mowing the lawn at the same time. As long as she was careful, no one would ever notice. Then last but not least, she discovered her invincibility. On a hot and humid afternoon, her younger brother and his friends were over for a water gun fight. Walking outside to get the mail, one of her brother's amateur friends decided to take a shot at Lavani, quickly reacting to the situation, she reversed the water with her mind, having it backfire, spraying the boy straight in the face. Lavani quickly relalized that she could also reverse an attack. What chemicals would give her these powers is beyond her. But she realized they were far too powerful to go to waste. So as of now, she does all she can to help others in need, and to fight crime until justice is served.

enemy: Villain name: The Lethal Taipan

Powers: He carries with him weapons containing poison as deadly as a Taipain Snake. He uses his intelligence for evil, creating deadly poison himself, in his own personal laboratory. He knows he's capable of harming people, and he does!

Why is this person your enemy?: His ambition in life is to harm as many living things as possible, and turn them into mindless workers for his secret mission! This organized mission is to (of course) take over the world, turning it into a dark, monstrous place that he has control over. Why he made this his goal in life has still got Lavani confused.

powers: Body Duplication: Allows her to generate copies of herself. It allows her to be in many places at once.
Limit: She can not generate more then 4 copies of herself.
Stunt: Can get a villain stuck, and surrounded.
Stunt: Can attack from 4 different angles.
Stunt: Can kill numerous villains, in 4 different places.
Stunt: Can confuse a villain by reappearing over and over in different places.

Body Transformation: Allows her to take the form of any creature.
Limit: Cannot take the form of insects. Not even butterflies :(
Stunt: Can trick a nemesis by taking the form of either an animal, or another human.
Stunt: Can eaves drop by taking another form.
Stunt: Can spy on others by taking another form.
Stunt: Can attack in the form of a fierce creature, such as a tiger.

Bullet-proof: Is invincible to bullets, and anything being aimed at her: (arrows, water, paintballs...etc.) Her invincibility is either reversing the attack, (like a boomerang) or simply be invisible. So even if she did get shot, she would be okay.
Limit: She can get injured by arrows, but she cannot be killed.
Stunt: She can reverse a bullet that was intended to kill her, and can kill her enemy instead =) (or just badly injure...)
Stunt: She can get shot in the chest, and still continue to fight.
Stunt: She can reverse something, and have the ability to aim it anywhere by simply using her mind.

items: Own: I own a case full of supplies, ammo, nutrition, etc.
Always carry: Spare ammo: arrows, bullets, paintballs, water...
Built Myself: The "I can shoot anything" gun. A gun that can actually shoot anything! Water, bullets, etc. It also has a "high pressure" button which can shoot liquids at light speed, with a lot of force.
Weapons: The "I Can Shoot Anything" gun, a high quality machete (for cutting things like chains, ropes, etc.) a heavy dictionary (for dropping on heads and leaving enemies unconscious...)
ITEM: Large, orange purse.

-- Powers of Item: It holds it all, the weapons, the source of communication (cell phone) and anything else needed.

-- Powers of Item: It holds it all, the weapons, the source of communication (cell phone) and anything else needed.

played_by: Milla Jovovich
player: Games I've played: I've never played any games like this. The only games I play on occasion are board games...
Where I live: In Oregon.
What my hobbies are: I take some dance classes, I like to spend time with friends, and I adore music, reading, writing, & watching movies.
What comics I like: Back in the day I used to read some Sailor Moon, Mew Mew Crew, plus Betty & Veronica...I haven't read batman, Spiderman, cat woman, or superman but I enjoy the films made about all of those characters! I recently watched "Bat Man Returns" which inspired me to create some kind of super hero; I love creative writing so this was just what I needed! =)

Character Proposal: Lavani (aka Samaurai Dancer)

Hmmm, I quite like this submission on the basis of several things. The powers I think are quite unique (being able to make duplicates of herself and the morphing ability) though I do have a few questions about how the powers work that hopefully the player will be able to answer.

1. It sounds like the duplicates are actual copies of Lavani rather than an optical illusion - I was just wondering if that was the case and whether the duplicates were just as invulnerable to bullets etc as the real Lavani is. It would seem to ME, that a duplicate should have more reduced capabilities, so perhaps less powers than the original.

2. When a duplicate is hurt or damaged, does this effect the real Lavani?

3. When in animal form, is Lavani more vulnerable to attack. I do like this power but I think it would add a layer of vulnerability to the character if when in an animal shape Lavani DOESN'T have access to the powers she possesses in human form. Just an idea anyway.

Oh and on another point, the player mentioned that Lavani was a member of the Vega City Liberation Group but there was no mention of HOW she became involved with them. Rather than just tagging this on as an after thought I would have liked to have seen the applicant take a blind stab at a thought for how she could have been initiated.

Generally the VCLG is a group of outcasts and people who've been hurt at the hands of The Trinity. I'm not saying that still has to be the case since the time jump will no doubt change the structure etc. One possible idea is that (depending on how old Lavani is) she could perhaps have been working at The Network - the Vega City news network as an intern and met Ben or James through that.

Anyway I'm giving my thumbs up, I like this application. :)

I like this one too, though I do have a few reservations about the level of invulnerability. I think it makes characters far more interesting (both to read about and to write about) if they AREN'T all-powerful and impervious to attack.

I like the duplication and morphing abilities, but I would suggest a definite toning-down of the invincibility thing, especially (as Lou suggested) when she's morphed or duplicated.

And I'd like to know, too, what happens to the original Lavani when she's duplicated herself. What if a duplicate is badly injured or killed? Is there an effect on the original? What if the original is badly injured - does she lose concentration and all the duplicates just vanish? How autonomous are the duplicates? Does she need to concentrate on them fully, as if they were remote-controlled devices? Or can she just set them loose and they'll take their own initiative, as if they were her? If they are that autonomous, what happens when one of them decides she wants her own life and works towards making herself independent of Lavani?

I give this a tentative thumbs up, with hopes for some revision and fleshing-out.
